You really should be able to uninstall the power antena and install any other antenna you want. You just have to know what your doing.

Its super easy....I got like a 13" rubber off ebay called a euro style antenna or something.....it looks more modern, and it fits in like a breeze, but the reception sucks so if u r into the radio at all, dont buy the ones off of ebay, get a quality brand.Just type in prelude antenna in your search and u will see.

Most likely you will have to remove the power and negative wires to the power antenna or cap them off. The other wire should just plug in

they are plug and play. Most are even universal now I believe. Mine was 14 dollers and reception is awsome. You can get them anywhere pretty much

You won't have anyprolems. Just take your time and maybe mask around the antenna so you don't accidently scratch anything.

I did the same as glazethatj and just unplugged the power and left the antenna down. I hardly ever listen to the radio but if i want to it still gets awesome reception while i am in the city. Installation of a new antenna is quite simple as others have said, just dont be in a rush and scratch your paint work.

IMO the power antenna is retarded. If you ever look at it while your out of the car It will remind you of an RC Car.

I had a old VW-style roof antenna mounted on my fender. razr cam pics, they suck but should show what it looks like. Only thing you need is a rather large washer and it fits fine. Angles just enough so it points up, and it sits maybe 1" higher than the roofline. mast screws off when I wash the car, so its just perfect. I also have a "shorty" mast that screws in, switch it up once in a while. Amd the reception is great, especially for those crystal clear radio commercials!

if you dont have a visor, you can get an interior antenna, that mounts to the glass, that was my plan originally, then I got lazy and just disconnected the antenna wire from the back of the cd player.

I went through the annoying antenna not moving, but making loud noise crap.. When I got my first Radio, I unplug the old antenna and I bought a hidden antenna.. I didn't really install it any where, just plugged it up. It worked fine if I sat it on the dash, but in the floor it was great..
When I moved out to AZ I zip tied it under the dash, under the Passenger Airbag, and it had terrible reception there.. And also pulled the stock antenna cable out and tied it up in the trunk.
Then over Xmas last year, out here in AZ, my car was broken into and my headunit and rear speakers were stolen.. Put my stock deck back in and it gave power to the stock antenna, so I had to go unplug the power from it.. After I finally got a new deck for my B-Day this past summer.. When I installed it, I relocated the hidden antenna to the top of my dash.. Now it sits inside the dash, above the cluster on the passenger side.. I get fine reception there when I do listen to the radio..

I also removed the entire antenna assembly from my car. Lost a few pounds there..?

I'd recommend the hidden antenna if you want to listen to the radio sometimes.. It's light as anything, no weight to it at all.. And you can completely remove the stock system.

maybe... but it looks so much nicer when it's tucked away... I'd rather have it hide itself when I'm listening to a cd than constantly being up...

Just got mine back from some body work. I removed mine and had the hole welded shut. I never listen to the radio anyway.

Are there any that can go in the fender or something. When I look at a 5th gen I have no idea where the antenna is, but when I listen to their radio...Crystal CLEAR! I want that in my car. Maybe this guy does too!?
