Ive seen this thing it looks like a lsd unit. but its in it a enclosed housing and pretty much u can put this thing on ur steering column(before the rack and after the wheel of course) with little fabrication. pretty much its three turns from dead left to dead right. and you can pretty much put it on any car and make it like a GO KART. I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE TO FIND IT!!!!!!! ive been searching for months and its driving me crazy. PLEASE HELP!!!!!
Steering quickener. Lots of people use them for circle track cars. I have this one:

Installed (the blue thing):
It is more than just a "little" fab. It requires a custom steering column, and everything attached to it. Plus an added U Joint

Stock car suppliers sell these.
"handle like a go kart"? No, steer like a kart maybe, but it won't really make you faster. Lowering your CG by a lot, cutting weight by a huge amount, and placing the drivetrain mid-engine is what really works. Sticking a Honda drivetrain in the back of a tube-frame chassis is a start... hey, that describes my book.

Hey this is Brian from PCI/special projects. I've already done this, I make a kit for eg/dc. Honestly Its the best thing I've ever put on my car. Its pretty much impossible to lose control from oversteer, someone bumping you or what ever it may be. I'll post up some pics
I forgot to mention, this is a direct bolt up. It takes about 15min to install.
But for sure you will have to run power steering, and the pump will have to be modified. On the pump where the high pressure line connects, if you remove the line you will see the hole where the fluid leaves the pump. The hole will be stepped, the small hole will need to be drilled to match the larger stepped hole.
And thats it, your good to go get nuts on the track now.

I am going to try and do this on a 91 hatch. Do any of you know what cars I can take power steering rack out of, to make this work?

It's not 1 turn lock to lock though. And that's just to bring the manual 4 turn lock to lock down to 2.83 turns lock to lock, like the power steering rack. So really its no different than any newer honda power rack ratio.

Well I know for a fact that DC and EG series racks bolt up at the same mounts.
So maybe a DA and a EF are similar? I am sure you could pick up a DA rack from the junkyard for cheap to see how close it would be.

This sounds very interesting. As soon as I get extra money I am going to have to figure out how to do this on an EK.

My mid-engine Mini is two turns lock-to-lock, which makes you really pay attention. Granted I have a shorter wheelbase than you guys, but one turn is very, veeery sensitive. I have manual steering which keeps things dampened to some degree, but on a car with PS, it would be a real handful. You sneeze and you'll definitely be changing lanes.
Maybe for track-only use, but test drive a street car first to see if you can tolerate it, and try not to crash.
Before someone jumps on me saying it's no problem, and that race cars use ratios like this all the time, don't forget that in real race cars, "lock-to-lock" may only be +/-20deg, so the amount turned isn't a crazy angle per movement of the wheel... like it will be on a street car.

Most 88-91 4doors and auto dx hatches had power steering.

Agreed, this probably isnt the best idea for a dd.

Im confused at how your steering keeping things wet...
Serious note... I had the tube frame Mid Engine Del Sol for a daily driver for a while, I'm not exactly a Buick driver... not saying this is the perfect daily driver setup, but the grandma steering I currently have in my 99 Si is getting frustrating. Worst comes to worst, I can always go back to stock, but I would love to try this out.

I have an EK and I am using a gsr rack without power steering, I just looped the lines. would that be better or did i waste my time?
