i'm still waiting for your response to a compromise between us two... in case you forgot:
(11:18 PM 3/17/2008) jomama: hey, we've got a problem... i finally got around to installing the steering rack and found a tear in the driver side accordian boot. i asked specifically if they were torn:
(11:49 AM 2/19/2008) LSVTECJW: im pretty sure there not torn at all but i can go to my garage and double check
(11:50 AM 2/19/2008) jomama: if everything checks out, i'll buy ASAP
(11:54 AM 2/19/2008) LSVTECJW: no i dont have a pic and ur not the closest to me so shipping prolly wont b cheap
(11:57 AM 2/19/2008) jomama: where are you located?
(12:06 PM 2/19/2008) LSVTECJW: acyually i think i might have a pick
(12:09 PM 2/19/2008) LSVTECJW: never mind but yea the boot things arent torn
(11:23 PM 3/17/2008) jomama: how do you want to resolve this? i was going to see how much a boot would cost and it's 25 bucks. the auto parts store guy recommended i NOT use the rack since it seemed that there was some sort of "stop leak" liquid run through the lines, as well. we've got to come to some sort of resolution. help me out, buddy.
(8:53 PM 3/19/2008) LSVTECJW: i never put any kind of stop leak into my rack the only reason i took the rack out was 2 swap in a manual rack it worked fine when it was in my car and wat would stop leak hurt anyway?
(8:55 PM 3/19/2008) LSVTECJW: just put the rack in and keep me posted
(10:15 PM 3/19/2008) jomama: that's not the main issue. the main issue is that one of the side boots is torn. i'm going to start tracking this car and i don't want dust and grime to start building up in there like it has on the one that i'm replacing... i asked specifically about the boots and you assured me that they were fine. again, please advise.
(5:35 PM 3/20/2008) LSVTECJW: well the boots were not riped at all when it was shiped thats the risk u take when u buy stuff off the internet and on top of that u got a great deal on that rack even if the boots were riped ive seen racks go way higher then that hell i just bought 1 for 250 shiped but its a manual steering rack i sold u mine for under 100 shiped i believe
(6:15 AM 3/21/2008) jomama: i asked very clearly if both boots were ok and you eventually told me, "(12:09 PM 2/19/2008) LSVTECJW: never mind but yea the boot things arent torn "
(6:16 AM 3/21/2008) jomama: so i paid for a rack with 2 "good" boots and i ended up getting one that had 1 torn boot and one that was good. i'd expect to get half of what i i paid back. let's come to some sort of compromise
