Default Lowering 2.2" and still be able to tow a jetski?

I see someone selling
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">-skunk2 springs 2.2 front and 2.0 rear drop......3 months old
-kyb-gr2 shocks and struts and stock strut mounts.......1 year old
-strut mounts with energy suspension bushings installed on em </TD></TR></TABLE>

Selling for $250. Is this a good price for used suspension?

I have a hitch on my car and tow a Jet Ski and my motorcycle during the summer time. Would I still be able to tow with a drop like this? Is a 2.2" drop a slam? I am not looking for a drop that will make me regretting it everytime I drive. I am looking for something that will make my car slick.

What do you guys think? Is this a super good deal that I should jump on? Is this a good suspension setup?

so, this isnt a good setup then? I have been reading that KYB GR2 are stock replacement, so that mean that they will not be good with a 2.2" drop?

That drop is way to much for those shocks. I hear good things about the kyb adjustables as far as the price to performance ratio goes.

AGX is what you should look at if you want KYB.

I'm thinking this is the set for sale in Newport News right? VADriven / lionman?

I'd personally pass on it for the GR2's

A 2.2" drop will be fine. Just watch out for dragging your hitch on the ground over steep driveways and such. Yeah, shy away from the Grrrrr2's. At least grab some AGX or even some HP's.

2.2 drop is alot. i had a 1.75 drop on my accord (H&R sports) and i had a 2 finger gap in the front at the most. i had gr-2 and they suck. get at least agx. i know have tein basic coilovers and they are ok. still soft to me.

Yes, thats the set. I did pass on it. I guess I'll just keep an eye out. How are those skunk2 springs? I see them new on ebay for $160. How much could I offer him for the springs alone used?

The rear of my car has sagged about 1" since I started towing on a regular. The rear is actully about 2 - 2 1/2 finger gap. The front is now high and the back is low. Could I lower just the front a bit to bring it back down to level and keep the stock suspension in the rear?

skunk2 in general is a good brand I personally don't have experience with it

I would upgrade everything all at once, but with the addition of towing I don't think I'd do that on a lowered car

I guess I do not really want to slam it to the ground. I just want to bring the front back down and have it looking slick.

you could still tow. lower center of gravity, and all you'd do is flip the trailer hitch from a drop to the raise. you're not really gunna overload the springs cus they should be stiffer than stock. plus a jetski is like 800 lbs, thats 4 200lb people or one fat chick

800lbs few feet behind the rear strut tower is alot diferent than 800lbs between the front and the rear. but if you load the jetski on the trailer right you would probably be putting only a fraction of that weight on your car, as far as how much, i dont know, im not that good at math

that is true, however, once the trailer starts moving, it doesnt take much to keep it going. It takes more power to move a loaded down car that to tow something.

well first off, KYB gr2's do not suck. they may 'suck' for what you want to do with them but they are cheap good quality shocks from a name brand company. GR2s actually come stock with some 240sx. and they are considered a replacement shock.

I bought m GR2s with 1.8" lowering springs on ebay for 240 *Brand new* shipped. So those being a year old i would say your paying more for the skunk2 setup. They are nice but they arent not made for stiffness and they are not adjustable. I like them because i do have better handling but they are shocks, they go up and down but i still bottom out sometimes.

I have no idea about the trailer i would assume that its not a big deal with these if you did get them.

I have gotten some KYB AGX shocks for the front. Should I get these Skunk2 springs or should I shop around for some other springs? I want decent ride quality and springs that will not sag too much.
I am planing on just lowering the front and leaving the rear with the current 2 finger gap from the stock suspension. What do you guys think? How many finger gaps would I get from droping the front 2.2"?

Is skunk2 decent quality if I can get them for about $100 or should I try to get some better springs like Einbich or something? I think I want a lil more than the 1.7" that the sportline offers though. I do not know.
