Question about LSD's!! Type R lsd fits in which cable trannies?
I'm wondering into which trannies a type r lsd will fit?
Cable trannies in particular.
I've got a '92 usdm YS1 cable tranny. Will the type R lsd fit in there?
Any websites with specific information?

It should (been done) but I also still have a question about mounting the LSD to the cable tranny's final drive ..
So anyone?
So anyone?
(sorry guy's. This is dutch........ its to hard for me to explain this in english!)

I have a friend who had a Quaife LSD successfully installed into his JDM J1 tranny. I never heard any complications after the install. Hope that helps

Leuk topic wordt dit dan!
Ok, I will try.
I've got Integra LSD in my Y2 tranny, so it will fit.
But you have to do some work to make it fit. You must rework the big end gear and the lsd to fit them together. Also you must remove some metal from the tranny housing to make it fit.
Als je kan mag je het ook beter vertalen dan dat ik het kan uitleggen
The first NA B20-Vtec- typeR in Holland!
(maybe the first in europe!)

yes it will fit in any b-series cable or hydraulic, jsut a matter of using the correct c-clip shims which fit in the casing under the carrier bearings ... you need to get the size by checking spacing with feeler guage.
In all the cables, I usually transfer the c-clip from the top casing(bell housing) to the lower piece then install LSD over it and it comes out very close and within tolerance.
also, keep in mind only a gsr from 94+ or a type R ring gear (thats the big gear that fits ont he differential) will fit ont he type R lsd. It can be used with the gear shaft also for 4.4 f/d.

ok, so the type r lsd fits, with a 94+ integra gsr gear? or the type r gear? these ring clips, are they from a type r or from a stock trans?

the c-clips are in the stock trannies, in the 94+ hydraulic its in the bell housing side (move it to other casing). In the 94+ "square" carrier bearings only. The tapered bearings dont have the c-clip spacers they have a bigger spacer. If your tpye R LSD has the tapered bearings pull them off and put the square ones on ... square are on the stock open diff from cable tranny.
you can buy the shim separately from the dealer ... or ask me nicely
Greg
consider this a formal request. haha! thanks for all your help man. i have heard that you can get type r lsd's for only like $400? will they have the tapered bearings or the squared off design? thanks again. when is that green monster in the background supposed to run?
Better yet, has anyone done a Quaife into a cable tranny?
