I was wondering if anyone has done or has pic's of aftermarket amber city lights, I think it would look pretty hot. Also if anyone knows where they can be bought too would help.

The bulbs are just amber 168/194 wedge bulbs. You can get them at any auto parts store. However, city lights should use a clear bulb, not amber.
City lights can be added to the headlamps using a "kit" that you can find online or on eBay. They also come standard on JDM or European headlamps.

I didn't say they have to be clear, just that they should be.
It's the same as asking why US parking lights should be amber in the front. That's just the way they are.

They're SiR headlamps, so they come with city lights from the factory.
On the SiR, though, the corner lamps would not be illuminated, they'd only flash with the turn signals.

You're right. For city light applications, LEDs do not generally work well, because they do not emit light in the same directions as the stock incandescent bulbs, and therefore don't illuminate the reflector properly. Instead, they tend to just shine forward, which isn't what you want for a city light.

Just for info, in JDM land its against the law to drive around with colored lights, even hot white (blue) will not pass safety inspection, the law is not normally enforced until inspection day so anything other than white city lights should not be JDM OEM but who wants plain white, right.
LEDs are changing technology fast right now, they are getting very bright and they are packing multiple LEDs into small packages to get even more brightness where just one was pretty bright already.
