Dave from SMS can make you a custom header. They are top notch in quality and performance. Give him a call @ SMSP, you should be able to find the number on h-t
about a 3 month waiting list, header costs mmm...almost as much as a Toda
I think I'm about halfway through my waiting period. Ordered mine awhile back

I went with a SPOON header !!!! ooooooooooooooooo SO SWEET!
Had to make my $50 donation to the Great Header Test worthwhile by benefitting from those results

just fyi that was just bolting up a header and doing a pull, absolutely no tuning whatsoever. The SMS could probably make even more power cause you can adjust the secondaries, also I'm sure it leaned out the fuel curve a bit too.
best i`ve see was a hytech unit on a friends b18c eg. This motor is built and was being choked buy a poopy dc unit. He made 186, we bolted up the hytech and it jumped to 201 w/out tuning. It was incredible.

How come Hitech wasn't in the test? Or did I just miss it?
As you can see, my Toda header rocked the test. The SMSP is more of a higher HP header, not just basically stock ITR, but it faired very well. If we would have had a nice ITR with cams and stuff the SMSP header would have walked away.
Oh and since it was brought up, thanks to everyone who sent in money to help the test, if it wasn't for all the donations, we would have never been able to pay the dyno time.
Thanks again.

damn! what the hell is that header that is as big as the whole table?! it looks like you could just bolt a muffler to it and have a whole exhaust in two pieces!!

Since it's a custom header, Dave doesn't restrict it to the stock bolt on size and makes it optimized for the best power curve.

What I gathered from those results months ago was that the most impressive headers tested IMo were the:
DC JDM 4-1 and the CompTech 4-2-1
Why?
Because the DC held its own and costs like under $300 yet it did better than some of those headers that cost over $500.
The CompTech unit is very impressive given it's non-2.5'' collector and the 4-2-1 configuration. Couple those with the price of under $400 and you have an easy bolt-on header that makes good power and has excellent ground clearance too.
I actually might get the CompTech for my car if i'm feeling too lazy to have a test pipe made.
If I want to go all-out though, I'll probably get the DC 4-1 and either a 2.5'' custom cat or test pipe for it since it has the 2.5'' collector like the JDM units.

BTW, we were all surprised by the Comptech header results, especially being the only aftermarket 2" collector there.
Really, I simply cannot/will not afford over $900 for any header even if it means getting 3 less peak whp and slightly less area under the curve.
I'd say take the $900+ dollars and get the sub-$300 DC header and take the other $600 and get some other things that will make up more than what power you would have had with the $900 header.
What do you think?

that would be cool if you are joe schmoe like most of us are.
but if you already have EVERYTHING, and you are looking for the BEST stuff money can buy well then you shouldn't be building a honda. but if you are building a honda a hytech header would be the way to go.

...And what data is there out there that proves to us that the HyTech is hands down THE way to go?
You guys must have missed the HUGE flamewar that the guy from HyTech started back right after the header test results were posted...
That thread was freaking classic!
Can anyone dig that one up?
