as the topic says. I think this will be a great class. I can deff for see 16 car fields at all events.
Set it up with the same rules as the FWD's in Nopi's Power Street and it would be packed.

We are thinking the same thing, i have alot of customers who would love this class. I really think it would be sick. I would put money on 30+ cars tryin qualify at e-town events.

It would be a good idea if it had much more limited Turbo sizes than SFWD.
Im down for something like that. Specially since im trying to get in the game. More turbo limits would be nice.

i say forget about turbo size rules. let them run 42r's if they want. Its not gonna do them any good at all. regulate tire size, weight and thats it. Im talking about a small radial, not no 255/60/15.

215/50/15 it doesent matter what turbo or power you have, all cars will be close if you limit weight. you aint putting down 600 to easily.
I think this class would be great! Street cars in full trim at its best
Electronics FTW

Miller. Good subject.
Dont want to start any arguments, but the big turbo limits will get out of control like SFWD. I can see this class working if the cars were mostly in the 11s on drag radials. That would bring alot of cars capable of competing.

I say T3 only with internal wastegates. no ball bearing and no intercoolers.
Oh I'm down for that.... Keep the same rules as Power Street because I would hate to have to change the car for it since my car is already dailed in and ready to go.

hey hey hey,not here.lol
I really dont think turbo's will have to be limited at all. I think if they put a minimum weight at 2500lbs for all manual cars and they all run the same small tire it would be a great class. Like Darren said a 215/50/15 would be sick, you not gonna put down 600+ on that tire

k series aren't allowed period
i don't necessary like the drag radial class idea -- it just doesn't seem like that much fun anymore with the parts breakage and inconsistency issues
i would rather see a 61mm sfwd type class -- maybe push the slick size even smaller, try and make a high 10 sec class
but the problem with any new class is the old story of it will be alright for a year or 2 and then there will be those who push the envelope and dominate and then the rules are the argument for the next 5 years
i don't think the solution is more classes, i think the solution is NHRA holding to their guns and those who want to race will be there regardless of the rules

My main reason for the radial class is that sooo many people can appeal to this class. You dont need a twin disk or stage 5 axles. You can compete with a very very cost friendly car. Parts breakage would be way down and you would have alot of people who can run in a class like this. I have tons of people who would love to run a class such as this and know i am no the only one who does.
by limiting the turbo size racers will be spending less money on some of the parts
It would be good if this class was in the 500-600whp range
unlike sfwd where they are at 800+whp

that is the problem right there in your theory - "You dont need a twin disk or stage 5 axles." -- but people will run those setups and they will run timers and multistage boost, and good engine management, and the best of the best parts to try and win the class and your friend who can't afford those parts on his legitimate daily driver street car will barely qualify and lose first round and break an autozone axle so he can't get to work in the morning and then complain that the class is too fast and the NHRA rules suck and life isn't fair
and then you will have arturbo and boostfed fighting, and a b series vs k series argument and we will be entertained for an evening and then we will be back to where the honda-tech Eracers are on the sfwd topic right now
theory is good -- execution will never work

I do disagree with you on this one. They need to fill it up with classes that are going to attract people to race and sfwd as an entry level class is just not possible for most. I just dont think the average joe can compete in this class anymore unless they have deep pockets. q16 had a 9.7 bump this past weekend so there goes that class for most. I think this would be a perfect stepping stone for people to learn how to race, go through tech, maintain a car and just flat out learn about going rounds and compete in a heads up class
