2007 H series Clutch Poll
I have run RPS 6puck(dead after 20k miles of hard driving) Clutchmasters Stage3(dead after main seal problem)and currently run an Exedy 3puck.
Maybe Vote for your Current brand and specify the "STAGE" or previous Clutches in a reply......
Having lots of experience with A/M clutches I do have to add I really love OEM Honda!
Most abused I have seen to date: 145k miles---multiple track days and 6-7yrs of 20+ event AutoX seasons....
At 95k miles mine was still in great shape...
Thanks for voting guys...

I'll never go close to using ACT. Seen more more than a few threads where their pressure plates have destroyed the bottom ends of engines.
For street/track(not drag strip), I don't you can beat OEM unless you're making a shitload of power.

Eh, I don't know about a stock clutch holding up to track sessions. Alot of that would really depend on the driver of course.
Link to ACT threads? I have never heard of them destroying bottom ends...
Are they sure it was the ACT or are they just blaming the ACT to avoid admitting their bottom end wasn't properly assembled?.....Never personally run one myself though.

ChrisRicketts comes to mind from the Prelude forum, and I have read of the exact same situation in a couple different threads in the ITR forum as well.
As far as OEM clutch not holding up on the track, yea it does have a lot to do with the driver being competent. But that holds true irregardless of what clutch is used. We don't have as many RR guys here, but the majority of ITR owners do track their cars. Incidentally, the itr and prelude clutches are the same, and those guys have no problems.

Competition Clutch
A friend fried an Exedy Organic "racing" clutch in less than 1 season. So far the Iron Man CC clutch in his car has held up for 2+ seasons. The Exedy Cerametallic worked well for him too, but wears out quickly.

What "model" of Comp are you running?
I have looked into their Twin Plates before but not their single discs....
Can you guys vote for COMP's?

i can vouch for the fact that those exedy racing organic clutches suck
i cracked the hub into several peices and the springs popped out and prevented me from disengaging the disc fully
but this was with many hard launches at the track.
it would probably be ok for daily driving i guess?

I use a Competition Clutch "Stage 4" 6 puck sprung hub cerametallic clutch. I also have a 4 puck sprung clutch as a back up.
I've installed a Stage 2 that worked quite well in a street car too.
The CC twin disk clutch isn't HC legal, so I haven't considered it. Not to mention you really need to make some power to require a twin disk clutch! For NA, twin disk is certainly not required on a street app.

It seems like the guys running the Exedy Stage0/1 for OEM type replacement are happy with them. I have 1000mi+ of RR time on my 3 puck and over 25 1/4 mile passes with ~270whp not to mention the street use and Dyno runs. I will be curious to see how it looks when I drop the trans this winter for the FD install. I am going to just plan on replacing it....
Very curious about COMP singles as a possible candidate!

Then she has to go and throw something like that out there.....
what do you guys start with? Do you actually make your own or do you have a clutch company make them to your spec?
I was looking into the Comp Twins when I was working on the (scrapped) Turbo project.

Maybe you don't drive(hard enough)
Although I HAVE been happy with my Exedy and its been used to launch more WHP/TQ than every owner that has replied(but on Drag Radials, not slicks) and has seen some very abusive RR sessions hitting the 40-45min mark.....
Who knows......
Nat, which stage are you running from BTP?

The numbers don't lie, Excedy is kicking everyone's but. It's basically an OEM clutch and all of us can vouch for OEM parts so I don't know how these people messed them up so easily.

They may be an OEM supplier, but not to Honda, and quality certainly doesn't seem to be at Honda standards. A lot ITR guys have had problems with Exedy OEM replacement clutches too. Fwiw, the OEM clutch is made by Fuji.

I wouldn't put it anywhere near Ebay quality. They're not as widely known as the major clutch companies, like ACT or Exedy. But it does get the job done.
