Default Strange bogging/stalling problem/smoke from intake.

Okay I got this weird problem...

Whenever I step at the gas at somewhat low RPMs, my car starts bogging, almost like its not getting fuel.

If I rev the RPMs in 1st to about 3 or 4 and then go, its fine, when I shift up and drive normally its fine. But if I step on it, it starts to bog. Its almost like its bubbling or something, I dont know thats the only way I can describe it.

I was trying to floor it in first, and the car bogged and backfired. Its also had some trouble starting up, when I was cranking it, there was a suction sound from my intake (AEM SRI) but it wouldnt start, almost sounded like my car was choking, then smoke came out of my intake.

Anyone have ANY idea what the hell this is? Its a 1992 Integra GS, B18a1

Made a video of the problem...

Possibility I suppose...

Would that make smoke come out of my intake?

Its so ******* annoying. I've stalled out in traffic because the **** just bogs to death, then it takes forever to start.

I really need to find out what the expletive is causing this...

Sounds like a very good possibility. Quick check... take out cat completely and drive it around. It might be loud as hell, but it will help you cancel that one out. Maybe it will fix it.... who knows?? lol

Fuel pump sounds out of the picture, since it was replaced a year ago. But I could be wrong, maybe a defective pump.

I'd say try taking out the cat. or before you go and do that, hook up a fuel pressure guage and see what that does

hey man, i got the same problem as you. I replaced my cat but that wasn't the trick. I also occasionally have smoke coming out of my engine and it smells really bad, although it is coming from the altenator Anyway, I am thinking timing/ignition related, so I am gonna try and replace the dist., plugs and wires as soon as i can

Double check your "ground" wire located near your thermostat.....make sure that wire is tight.

This might solve your problem....

I forgot to mention, before this happened I drove across my state and got stuck in stop and go traffic for about 20 minutes.

For some reason, my car starts to overheat in that kind of traffic, and my temp gauge shot up. My car didnt die or overheat but it definately wasnt liking it.

I'll check this out, gotta find my theromstat now

My car started up with no smoke and ****, pretty much started fine. Could it possibly be a needed oil change? I threw some extra quarts because I burnt up a lot of oil, and i'm overdue for a change...

What kind of smoke ? White smoke ?

Blown head gasket like smoke ?

Look in your valve cover see if the oil is light and tannish.

White smoke.

The oil looks good... I think I might possibly have to much, but could that even be a factor?

Never mind your oil.

You just might have BHG your symptoms sound just like it. Does your exhaust smell sweet?

Take your valve cover off and take a picture.

You might get a creamy surprise.
