Default Any moved there battery?

I am thinking of moving the battery to the rear cuz it will give me room to route my turbo piping....So what are the rules and regulations I have to follow? I heard it has to be fully enclosed and vented to the outside. Anything else?

you have to have an external battery cutoff to pass a tech inspection.

there is a thread in the drag racing forum you can look at.

Do yourself a favor and invest in a dry battery (Optima, etc). Make sure you anchor the battery to the floor well.

I can't find that post but where can this cut off go? Under the hood?

about that battery cutoff switch, uh which regulations are you going by? Is this for a sanctioned drag racing body or for autox or what? I have a battery in a box in my hatch. I have no cutoff switch and I don't drag race for a living. I pass tech all the time when I go to the drag strip. It is also legal in E mod.

Sac raceway here won' t let you drag unless a relocated battery has a cutoff switch (not keyed) on the back of the car. It has to cut positive power from the battery AND from the alternator to literally kill the car.

That ****** sucks for you. I'm glad I don't have to do that bullshit. My car is a street car and a battery cutoff on my tail end could be disastrous. Any joker could come by and bam. The car would die. screw that strip.

Our decided solution is to get a spare right (or left) tail light, and mount a kill switch in it. Then when you go to the track, just swap out the taillight for the one with the kill switch in it.

you must have tech inspectors that don't know what the hell they are doing...or don't care.

Relocating a battery from the stock position (even if it's still in front of the firewall) requires a cutoff (positive terminal and alternator...four pole switch.) clearly marked and mounted to the rear of the vehicle. I think if you look around, most ALL sanctioning bodies require ths. Most tracks require it as well (even if just for a test and tune).
