Default Tranny Fluid Recommendations

Already did a search for transmission fluid and got nothing, so now I turn to the gurus.

Any recommendations? I just want a lot of protection. I was think Mobil 1 or Redline.

Thanks, Matt--

When you get it on you, kinda like Mobil 1 syn, the smell sticks to you for a while though... soap or not

other lubricants might be like mobil 1 synthetic actually is too good to be in a tranny. A tranny needs friction for the dog gears to engage well, and that's why you should never use synthetic in your tranny, because its too slick. Honda MTF is the only fluid you should use.. period, just perfect.

Honda MTF only!!!

I'm in the same boat as the quote from the guy below. The OEM Honda fluid is so good, don't muck up your gearbox with something else. I replaced mine with BG Synchroshift and wish I never had!

Well, I used to use Redline MTF in my car, still got a few quarts (5) sitting in my garage. My tranny started giving me problems, i got new sychros, switched back to Honda MTF and no more problems.

HONDA MTF

I use Honda MTF, but I have also heard good things about GM syncromesh, especially if you have bad syncros.
