Where to buy Padding for roll bar.??
I just finished installing my roll bar and was wondering if any places locally would carry the padding to wrap around parts of it? I've went to home depot and no luck there. If there isn't a place locally, could someone give me a website to buy some? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank You
Thomas

I ordered padding from my old roll bar and my new cage from here:

(I hope the link works)

I know a few folks that used that foam pipe insulation stuff, but I dunno how they attached it. With some sort of glue. It was nice because it's denser than regular rollbar padding. BUT, god only knows what will happen to the stuff if it's on fire (re: poisonous fumes). Not that regular or SFI rollbar padding can be too good for you.
Anyhow, regular rollbar padding is probably easier to come by if you just order it online.

Please consider what you're doing. Regular rollbar padding is ineffective at stopping severe head damage in the case of an accident. I believe Simpson is one of the very few places who have tested, and sell, the Right Stuff.

Home Depot? Hardware store? Insulation???????
Sorry fellas, i guess no one told you. Thats NOT rollbar padding and is ineffective to absorbing contact. Yeah, may look the same, but arent made the same. Officials are trained to look for that. Rollbar padding is specially made to absorb contact, not to keep heat in the rollbar.... You'll find it eccentrically cut for extra padding directed where you need it.

I'm not sure if even Summit has the right stuff, which I think has an SFI number.
Pegasus Auto Racing has it.

I'm sure others do to, but that's the one I know of. This stuff is relatively new, I read a writeup on it. Apparently we've all been using stuff that we thought works, but no one ever tested it. It doesn't work, but the new stuff does...
