On friday I was at Pannonia Circiut in Hungary. http://www.pannonia-ring.com/
The new setup has some minor problems, but you can find and fix them only when practice racing
This was the first time with m yTurbo ITR on this circuit. Best time with Semislicks: 2:18.xxx, Best with Slicks: 2:13.xxx ...driven from my girlfriend!
Also an race with about 25 cars was organised, too bad it only lasted 3 rounds for me, cause one of the Porsche guys was to far in the gras and lots of dust was all over the asphalt and I lost the grip.......bye bye
.......good luck only the rear bumper was damaged. I had lots of stones in the rims and at the brakes. I had to drive back to the pits.
Some other probs with the car was oiltemp of 155 Grad C, too much water temp (also with heater on at max!), loosen turbo stud and bolts, loosening airfilter. Look at the pics to see how we solved some of the probs.
Besides this the car runs great. Not even a burned drop of oil (Castrol RS 10W60), no tranny probs, no engine probs, etc
I want to change some things to the new setup:
- The hoses for water and oil to feed the turbo are now on the tranny side and follow along the turbomanifold into the turbo. I want to bring the hoses to the other side, the timing belt side.....so they do not get so hot.
- bigger oil cooler
- one more big vent in the hood
- an oem radiator into the trunck like STOCKCARS have.
- little airducts into the samll trianglewindows
- maybe lowering the car for another 2cm with shorter springs for my JIC suspension

Damn, my 7 year younger Girlfriend was faster than me on this track! She drives GREAT. Has 4 year experience in AutoX and mountainrallys.

Nice!
I'll be trying to do something similar on this side of the Atlantic.
Looks like I should be looking for an oil cooler a little bigger than the little Greddy one I had from the last build.
Speaking of women drivers, on the way back from work today I was behind a "girl" in a nice silver Cayman S, and as I got to my appartment building there was an "older" woman driving a Z06.

Thanks Christain for the update. This is the kind of thing that should happen more offten on here where people go out racing and and come in here and update their progress so that we can all enjoy the story and may learn a few thing at the same time
PS: Don't you love it when a girl beat you in racing. For me, this is purely a motivation issue

Hey I didn't notice this thread until now. Nice to see you're finally got to race your new motor.
It's concerning reading about your cooling problems though, as I'm building a turboed Civic myself with a pretty similar motor.
Why haven't you considered tuning your motor on E85? That would lower your EGT with about 300*C, which again would fix almost all of your cooling problems.
The only thing that would be less reliable on E85 is the fuel pump due to lack of lubrication, but I don't think changing it out every other year or so is too much of a hassle.
