Hey sup guys, so im starting my build thread finally i just sold my clean turbo civic si hb and ive had my 94 integra gsr awaiting TLC. i bought it for $1300 on craigslist with 170,000 miles on it.i got it cheap cuz motor wouldnt rev past 5k rpm and i knew it was just the distrubutor so i bought it changed the distr. and ran like a champ so good deal there. Mean while i had another gsr a 2000 gsr 4 door but it was totaled which i got it from an acution for $2900 so i swapped the 00 gsr motor in already with 100,000 miles on it. i will be doing lots to it so keep checking into my thread as i go on working on my gsr and keeping up with H-T ps remeber back a while ago about the open header while using a honda throttle body i will show you guys a DIY on that which so many of you on H-T were awaiting LOTS OF PICS AND DIY COMING!!!

Well today i started out by taking the motor out and i got it done took only half a day did it all by myself no help lol- Tomorrow i will be stripping the entire engine bay and getting the car ready for 3 stage paint job bay and car - mean while i will be taking abs out and ill be doing an full wire tuck- power steering and ac i already took out before

FINALLY DONE -it was so hot today and this whole summer so im done for today by the way 2 new houses burned yesterday AGAIN in my community from the heat lol and 2 months before 2 house burned in my community while 4 were damaged -CRAZY HEAT

Got that Spoon Sports vtec controler which i never used and i see no point in having so if someone wants it pm me an offer and no lowballers

O and i no i need a better camera and i do have a really good one but when i upload pix they are so big i have to resize and upload on photobucket and takes so long i dont want to deal with it

maybe ill make my lil bro do all the pics and resizing hahaah

wtf. how does a house burn down over heat? did dry grass catch on fire from reflecting off a broken mirror or something? haha

 

na na a porpane tank exploded but the heat was the cuz of the explosion and i still dont no why the other 2 burned down from yesterday, yesterday was 105 degress records high

 

i will be painting it NightHawk Black off a 01 ITR 3 stage paint job

 

whats the deal with the header?? is it so you can quiet it when you want??

 

its open header i pull a switch from inside the car and when im driving its closed and quiet once i pull open the throttle body which is on the header all the exhaust air exits threw the throttle body instead of going threw the exhaust system o and its loud as hell and vtec sounds crazy with open header

 

oh alright i see now, so there isnt any exhaust piping after the TB, nice.

 

yup straight out of the TB -lots of top end with this open header

 

Awesome man... Keep it up.

I'll tell ya this, making DIY's isn't the easiest thing. Keeping mental noes (and real notes) of the tools, steps and taking pictures really adds to the difficulty of the projects. Also takes much more time.


Justa warning.

Though, I'll say this as well.. When some dude PM's you, thanking you for making a DIY because he can now do something to his car.. Or somebody thanks you because you gave them an idea... It makes it worth it

And your exhaust cut out intrigues me, unsing the throttle body. Does it leak from the pressure forcing the TB plate open?

you've given me an idea for sure I had forgot all about cable open exhausts!

no leaks from throttle body at all im very pleased with how well it works

Though, if people want to know how loud it is... Here's a in car video of me playing, open header. GSR w/bolt on's.

Don't mind the slow shifting... Wasn't racing so no reason to rape my tranny.


I'm seriously contemplating the OP's exhaust cutout.

Where do you have the cable run to? Inside the car or outside?

 

cables hooked up on TB which then runs threw the small hole in firewall where cruise control cable was and inside the car and when i wanna open it up i just pull and when i let go of cable it closes
