I bought this yesterday at a flea market during the Goshen fair grounds car show. I actually bought it as a knick-knack to look at since I think it is such a beautiful piece. I decided to see if it just might fit on my 1990 Civic Si and it fit perfect. Is there anyone on honda-tech that can tell me what year and make of Honda this shift **** came from? I estimate that it is from 1966-72, But that is just a guess. Please let me know.

It is made of solid wood for sure, I can definitely see the cork color resemblance.

I "think" it's from a first gen Civic with the wood grain option.
Edit - upon further review, what you have is a wood shift **** from a 1979 Honda Civic "Special X". Very rare cars, not many made, and they were only offered for sale in Canada.
Here's a pic, it's doesn't show the **** in high detail, but you can tell it's the same.

The guy wanted $15.00 for it, I talked him down to $12.00. It really is a beautiful piece. Thanks for finding the information for me smithenhiven, I appreciate all the help
I will certainly remember that it came from a rare 1979 Honda Civic "Special X". Now my 1990 Honda Civic Si wears it proud. It is not an everyday driver and it will be well taken care of.

Sure, no problem, I'm glad I was able to help. Sounds like you got a great deal on it, I'm sure it's worth a whole lot more than that to the 1st gen Civic guys.

I found the pic in a thread on 1stgencivic.com (sorry, forget which thread in particular, I just knew the **** was from a Special X, and did a search on there).
Here's a link to some info/pics on the car:
