Default RacerStev treated gears...check in!

i posted this in here because most of the people who have had their gearsets treated by RacerStev are in here.

but i just thought i would get us all together and share our experiences and kinda keep a diary going. i have heard nothing but good things about him. so post up if you have had your gears treated by RacerStev. he is treating mine as we speak, should have them soon.

He's asking for a website.

There isn't one. Racerstev just does it for people who are having for problems, and at a reasonable price at that.

I talked to him about a week ago about getting mine done. I plan on getting my gears done before I go turbo.

Here is an update for you. Steve did my gear a few years ago. When he did them I was making 505 at the wheels I am since making more power.

This past weekend at NOPI NH I checked my tranny oil and it was low so I added some oil. I went out and did a run and could not get in second gear, I thought for sure I broke a gear.

Took the trans apart last night to find that somehow a bolt got inside my tranny. I think when I was filling it through the VSS it may have dropped in but I am still trying to figure out where the 12mm bolt came from (thinking the IM) The bolt had managed to wedge inbetween the ring gear where the dif is bolted and procedded to break some of my inside trans apart which I think is what took out my second gear synco. All the gears look fine. I can see on the ring gear where the bolt was hitting because it made the gear a little shiny in some spots but all of gears are still in tack and nothing is broke or rounded off. Just need a new syncro for second.

I have not heard of anyone breaking a gear he has treated. I just had steve do my gsr gear set because I was running an ls and going through the traps in 3rd gear. I dropped the gears off Friday night and Steve had them done for me on Sunday so I can make it to the INDY race. I can not be any happier with his treating or his turn around time.

I pre judged his treatment. Thought it was just "another" treatment. Friend of mine, Blown90Hatch, was breaking gears every other pass. Since he had his gears treated by RacerStev he has not broken one. The car traps 140 - 149

lol....definately not the best forum for this. Most people in here still think the LS tranny is best for boost. Drag forum is where you probably will get the most hits. I have been promoting Steve's treatment for a while now. As you already know, here is the thread that spawned it....

I've done a few dozen sets for you guys and now for the VW guys. So far I've lost
2 gears, one was in for 2 years and broke right after a cuff was installed. Gotta
wonder on this one. The other was on a 850hp Sport Fwd car, I'm not sure if this
is our limit or if I just got a bad gear to start with.

I was forced to look into alternatives back when I was racing my Geo. No one
made parts for the darn thing so I had to do something to keep the gears in the
trans and the axles from snapping. This is the process I developed.

Just here trying to help everybody with a affordable way to go racing!

BTW Mike you gears are done, be coming back to you tomorrow....

i remember that when u couldnt keep a tranny together for nothing. your time should improve drastically with the gsr

Steve I will be calling you tomorrow. The gears you treated are great to bad the gears I bought are all different sets so they don't play nice together. I am trying to get a complete tranny for MIR.

steve i want to send you some gear soon for our k series stuff but my question is on the 2nd gear where we have the most problem is the teeth on the bottom where the syncros engage how do you think they will hold up the good for about three passes at full throttle shifting as is, will treating them do the job or do you think we need to go dog box? you can pm me if needed!
