It's not a tough concept guys - every manufacturer of aftermarket wheel studs (ARP, Skunk2, Blox, etc.) recommends spot welding them because they want to cover their asses. Welding is clearly a more bullet-proof method of installation, so why no recommend it?
The truth is that nobody welds them, no matter what brand they get. That's just stupid. Do you also put loctite on every nut you've ever tightened? Of course not. It's called overkill.
And the worry isn't that the studs will back out, it's that they'll spin around when you try to torque your lugnuts. That's not gonna happen.

I see all the ARP vendors recommending it. You'd have to ask ARP directly if they advise it.

That doesn't make any sense - the studs can't "back out" because they're held in tension against the hub once the lugs are torqued... And how would it backing out cause the wheel to fall off? None of that makes sense.

It ISN'T possible. The ONLY way for them to back out is if the lugs are loose. You must have had something else going on.

NOBODY welds them. Try searching the archives. There's a vendor in the classifieds section that sells sets of Blox studs everyday. Do you really think any of those people are welding them?
