I need some ideas on where to mount a VAFC and a RSM
My friend mouted his right behind the shifter... between it and the cup holders... that way when he parked, he could take it off and put it away so thieves wouldnt see it.
I have mine goin right on top of the steerin column...i line of sight, but it can be removed easily to keep it out of sight.
I had a custom mount made to elimenate the ash tray and cig lighter (I dont smoke Neways) so mine is mounted there in Carbon Fiber.
it looks clean and the passing theif wont notice it through the clean set up and tint.

i wouldnt worry about the VAFC fellas .. i doubt someone is gonna bash your ITR window in to take a 150->200 resellable item ...
you should be more interested in chaining the WHOLE ITR down to the concrete (:

It really didn't block as much as it looks like. Tach below about 2k or so, the blinky-blink key icon and the service light (NOT check engine light) are the only things obscured by the V-AFC. You can still see the temp gauge when it's reading the normal level.
Besides, I wanted it visible so I could see an accurate RPM. Plus, vacuum and throttle position were fun to keep track of. Peak hold ownz, too

How are you able to remove your V-AFC easily? I have mine located in front of the shifter but did not know that you can remove it easily. I'm worried some thieve will think it's part of my stereo and rip it out.
One place I would like to see one mounted is where the clock is. Only problem is that if you have to press a button on it its a bit far to reach. But I think it should be near eye level, you shouldnt have to look down and take your eyes off the road when playing with it.
i used to have a vafc and all i did was just tug it undeneath the clock w/ the mou nthat the vafc came with. It's pretty secure and look nice at night.
Do a search and see if you can find pics of RStoR's V-AFC installed in the passenger side visor. Good stuff!
Also, mine (above on the gauge cluster bezel) was velcro'd for easy moving.

i thinking of putting mine in place of the clock , im getting to ripping it out now to see how it fits. ill let yall know if thats where i put it and take some pics.
ok i got mine mouted already . it wont fit in the hole, so i took out the clock and mounted the unit with the mounting brakcets right in front of the hole so it can pivot and stuff it looks pretty good imo . and just ran the wires thru that hole where the clock was.
