ok here is the info i was driving down the street at about 50 or so and then all of a sudden the car cuts off on me....right before this happens i hear my fields vtec controller beep a little bit...and now the car wont start up again...i have no clue what it could be...i have changed the cap and rotor and have checked the sparks going to the plugs and they are there....anyone know what else could be the problem....the fuel pump is on cuse i can hear it when i put the key in the on position and the car sounds like it wants to start but it wont turn over completely it stops like half way..........hellllllllllllp me
Hmmm I'd say main relay but I think you wouldn't hear your fuel pump if that was the case.
Check the ground cable that goes from the tranny to chassis.

I have had several problems with the Feild units in many cars. Check the plug on the back of the unit. In several cases I have found that the connector will come loose and cause the car not to start or to shut off while running. I have seen the unit appear to be working fine and when you mess with the connection the car will die or hesitate.
My girlfriends car still has the Feild's unit in it. Here's a scenario for you... She comes off of the line (at the track) and makes her 1st to 2nd shift and the car all of a sudden shuts down and starts up again. This also has happened when she hits a bump. The car starts to hesitate violently. The feild unit is beeping away every time the car stutters... I had to tighten each pin on the harness side of the connector. This has corrected the issue. BTW I also replaced the ignition as well. The problem was still there. It took a week to find the problem as is intermitant. This has happened on 4 cars I have worked on as well.

if i were to unplug the connector from the back of the unit would the ecu begin using its old settings....or would i have to disconnect the wires connected to the ecu as well
If you unplug the Field unit the car won't run. The Feild makes several "inturruptions" in the wiring harness to the ECU. This is why if there is a loose connection the car does funny things, like hesitations and not starting. You would have to fix the connection or remove the Feild and reatach the wires to the ECU.

okie well i check the connections and they all look in good place..........the only problem on blaming it on the controller is that this car turnning off thing happened once before on the highway right after i floored it.....i have an auto.....but the car turned back on after wards....not rite away but after giving it some try it turned on....
When you try to start it, does the starter rotate correctly, or does it turn partially and stop?
Aslo, what exactly were you doing, just cruising at 50, or were you blipping the throttle?
