Default Valve clearance adjustment

Hey guys,
I searched multiple times to find an old write up on how to do a valve clearance adjustment on the D17 motor, but i could not find the thread. So if someone could please post it up that will help a lot. I also searched the FAQ page but it was not there either.

Thanks guys

Is search working for anyone else at the moment, or is there something currently wrong with the search feature???

remove valve cover, rotate each cylinder to TDC, adjust Intake valves .008-.010, adjust exhaust valves .009-.011.

There was a huge server patch performed yesterday. It's been rather slow getting all of the functionality back for the site.

i know how to do it, i just cant figure out how to get all of the wires off the top of the valve cover . Its probably something easy, but i was just tired and didn't feel like workin on it.

These are a bitch if you haven't done them. I did a Tbelt/Waterpump on one today in 1.5 hours. But, I've done about 100 of them...

Just take your time and pay attention. It isn't nearly as bad as it looks. I like to use bungee cords to hold everything out of my way while I'm working. Helps to keep from chopping the valve cover gasket when reinstalling it. That is the biggest problem I see people having when doing these. Good luck.

yeah, my only problem is getting all of the wires off the top of the valve cover in order to take it off. i unplug everything i could, but i was tired so i will go look at it again when i have a chance.

why couldn't they just make the d17 like the old d series??

To get the slack you need you have to remove the small bracket securing the AC line to the power steering bracket. Slip the harness through the opening and you're golden.
