Default Off the Shelf 250whp motor.

I run a 2001 Integra Type R in the Street Stock class in both BOTI and NHRA. FOR BOTI, we have to keep the OEM Block, Head, and Transmission that comes in the car, in the car. Also, for NHRA, full exhaust is needed. I wanted to be competitve in both series this year, so I decided to go to a big B series.

I'm posting this up because I feel many people complain about building a high HP B complaining you have to do custom everything... YOU DON'T.

This motor was tuned in Virginia but has made 250 consistently on a few different Dynos and in a couple states. It was Tuned on a DynoJet 248c but also has seen a 224 mobile dyno. There is plenty left in the motor. I'd like to pull the head soon and put new rings in and actually touch up the head to smooth out CNC marks. Also, this motor is driven to and from work. Its not just a race motor. All I do differently is put on an Air Filter.

The setup is 86x89 B18c5 block.
It has some Straight Wall (Benson Style) Sleeves bored to 86mm with Arias Pistons and a Stock Honda LS Crank.Compression is 14.7:1
-Sunoco 110 octane, but might even be able to use less. We havent tested anything lower.
-Rods are Carrillo A Beams
-ACL Race bearings all around.
-86 Cometic Headgasket (.030)
-Skunk 2 CNC Head (I did not even touch anything up whatsoever. just lapped valves and dropped it in)
-OEM ITR Valves
-Skunk 2 Pro Series 2 Cams
-Skunk 2 Springs/Retainers
-Skunk 2 Cam gears
-H22 Spring-type LMAs
-Hondata Intake Manifold Gasket
-Edelbrock VictorX Intake Manifold (TB Inlet opened to 75mm for a bigger TB later)
-Skunk 2 Pro Series 70mm Throttle Body
-RC 440 Injectors (running around 72% I believe)
-Walboro In tank
-Comptech Intake Tube with RS AKimoto Velocity Stack
-Old SMSP Header that I'll die with. (6 years and still badass as Day 1)
-2.5" Piping with Resonator
-APEXi N1 Muffler
-MSD 6al and Blaster SS coil
-Hondata s200

First and foremost, I'd like to thank Chuck, Rob, and Seth At Abacus Racing and Machine. Seth has helped me from when i was a young kid just learning hondas and still now provides technical info for me. Chuck and Rob put up with me always bugging to use the dyno facility. I'd also like to thank Tony at Skunk 2 for helping me with tech info during the build. DonF for selling me the head at a great price. And Shad Sawyer for me picking his brain every time i went to the dyno.

12.347 with a 1.820 60' on slicks
12.36 on Drag Radials with the old graph you see there.

We havent had good track conditions yet to run numbers. We ran that number when it was about 90+ deg out and humid as all hell.

I hope to have 11.7s on this motor.

I have a vid from this past weekend. My budddy is formatting it so its smaller and easier to DL online.

Great build and numbers.

2068cc, 250 whp and you are using my Stage 2 B18C1 header. This was right around the same power that Gordon used to make with the same type header. You should get DonF to send you my personal B19 header that he has to try. Or maybe we can do a new prototype header and use some of the new stuff that's in my current K header? I think it's time to go 3".

Yeah, i need to give Don a call .I've got some time off between now and the next race, so I could do some testing too. I think you're right about 3" also, I havent even tested the motor uncapped yet. Havent had the time to, but I think we can soon.

quite possibly, but they are not legal for my racing nor do i want to invest another $2000+ on something that may only give me 5hp

250 to the wheels should easily bring you high 11's on full slicks..good luck with your future build bro

That is what I was thinking. Those #'s are enough for me to play around with the scrap parts I have laying around.
