Villeneuve's BAR already let go. Barichello9 in first, Montoya second, Schumacher 3rd. Highest Honda is Fisichella in 8th. Full course caution to get Villeneuve's car off the track.

Yeah it sure looked like JPM had a shot for the win. Did anyone see if his air intakes were cleared of the leaves during his second pit stop? Maybe that had something to do with his engine letting go.
G. Fisichella has really been doing a good job. Given about 3 or 4 more laps he might have caught Raikonnen(sp). I really hope Honda continues to sponsor Jordan because they have clearly shown over the past two years that they are the more competent Honda team.

It was a good race. Too bad about Montoya. He is definately Schuey's equal...if only he had a reliable car.
The coverage wasnt bad either, except for when the slow-mo kept cutting in.

The coverage wasn't bad? Did you see the USGP last Sept.? That was horrible... I thought it would have turned America off to F1 altogether because even their tones of voice sounded uninterested. And don't get me started on Bob Jenkins .
The coverage today was done by people who know the sport best... Europeans. They were articulate (British, not Scottish... imagine Colin McRae doing commentary, good God!), well spoken, and actually knew who the guys/cars/sport were. I am also happy it was a good race and not some lousy parade. This race helped F1's cause to the American mainstream, if only the mainstream would watch it!

John Watson is a good announcer...
He was one of the announcers in the "old" British Touring Car days (Aiello, Menu, Rydell, Leslie, Neal, occasionally Mansell etc).I don't know who has worse luck, Montoya or Barrichello.

It was nice to see Raikkonen finish a race again.
For a while there when RB was in front of MS and they were in 1st and 2nd...it had me wondering what would happen if things stayed that way.

I dunno, I'm an avid road racer and I still can't even sit through most F1 broadcasts. I find the races quite boring. Seems like after the start the most tense moments are whether someone will beat someone out of the pits. *yawn*.
Yes, they are the best drivers in the world driving the fastest cars in the world. While I can appreciate that, the entertainment value, especially watching it on TV, just isn't there for me. I want to see racing beyond the first turn of the first lap and there isn't enough of that in F1. This was a good "race" by recent F1 standards and I still wandered off to do chores around the house.
Now... The IRL race Saturday night was freaking INSANE!!! I flipped over from the cup finals during a commercial and found myself not flipping back to the hockey game. I'm not at all a big fan of roundy-round, but you can't deny that there was some serious racing going on in Texas Saturday night. That is the **** that makes for good TV, not the "drama" of "will Michael make it out of the pits before Montoya passes." *double yawn.*
The Honda Challenge races in April were more exciting.
Just my $.02.

I agree that the IRL has some great on-track action...probably the best of any of the big series.
But the F1 race today was good, it was on the way to being a classic if Montoyas motor held up since he would catch MS.
The worst open wheel event this weekend was CART at Laguna Seca, not much passing, 4 meaningless lead changes. They even had the first lap pile-up that is usually F1's signature!

I'm a big F1 fan, but quite honestly I agree--sometimes I just watch the start and the finish and catch the highlights at the end to see the exciting stuff. This weekend though was pretty interesting, and Canada had some good camera coverage of the "rest of the field," where there were some good battles going on. Anyone wanna comment on Coulthard's move at the chicane when Barrichello drafted him? I think there were way too many people straight-lining there, maybe they should put some grass or gravel so you really are at a disadvantage for "missing" your braking point...
The coverage was pretty good. The comentator is one of the best in the biz, but the guy that plugs other ABC shows when they go in and out of commercial can go. He was pretty worthless. And, I'd have to say Danny Sullivan absolutely sucks as a pit-lane correspondent. Could he be any more boring?

With Bernievision you could see so much more than I could of ever imagined
LOL... You said "Bernievision." Where did you watch the race?

Bernievision
Im not sure if this is in place already or not, but I remember hearing something about a ~ payperview F1 coveage with all kinds of cool in-car views, etc. I know the car manufacturers dont want F1 to become a payperview sport, but I thought I heard something like this already going on in England. (~"Bernievision") Thats why I asked where you saw it. But you're right, that guy runs the show.
