Default 16v Wing Install(w/pics)

I finally installed my 16v euro wing today with great success. I was originally gonna have a body shop do the install as body work is not my forte but I figured what the heck and try it myself. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 the hardest I give this a 4. As long as you follow the rule measure twice cut once you'll be ok. Anyhow on with the install. The wing came with 8 mounting points, 4 are screws and the other 4 are plastic clips for lack of a better word. I chose to only use the 4 screws as it seems sufficient. You can use the clips as well but are NOT needed.
First you need to remove the interior trim on your hatch which is held on with clips. Easy enough. Trim removed.

Heres a pic of the wing with the plastic clips removed. Simply pull down towards the screws and the clips come out.

The clips removed,

Next use some tape to hold the plates which the screws are attached to in one spot so they don't move around making things difficult.

Next remove the wiper blade with a 12mil.

Next put some tape(I used duct tape) on the hatch where the screw holes will be and push down with the wing to leave an indentation This is where you will drill.
Before

After

Next drill some pilot holes.

Then full size.

Remove tape.

Perfect fit! Next use silicone or whatever type of sealant you prefer to aviod leakage.

Next install wing screws into holes.

Also use silicone on the under side of the hatch.

Reinstall trim and your done!

I was thinking about this installation not too long ago.

My 16v wing should be coming in this week.
