ITR Top Speed
OK.. the ITR is supposed to be limited at 145 right? I got in a fat argument on the SRO board wiht some *** about this... But in the process of racing some M3 My speedo was past the 150 mark at I guess would be liek 152 if the speedo continued.. but I was basically hitting redline in 5th... so was ther not a limiter on some of the ITR.. or sumtin... or does it work differently in them.. cus I know in my old car when u hit the limiter.. it killed the gas so u couldn't go past that point... the only reason I can think of is cus.. u know how speedos read differently and aren't totally accurate.. is there another comp or sumtin that know ur exact speed in the ITR.. and does this comp control the limiter? cus my car is bone stock so I dunno why I guess it never kicked in?
Wherever your revlimiter is, I have a 9100rpm rev limiter, therefore I have a little higher top speed...although the speedo is off, so you really don't have a clue as to what speed you're actually traveling unless you have a radar gun(of which most only go to 145mph) or you're being tracked via GPS.

I've seen 150 on the speedo with more room on the tack about 600-700 rpms. THe speedo and tachs are most definitly off but this was on stock tires so it should be by 4-5 mph max at that speed. I would say just short of 150 for sure.
so theres no real speed limiter on the car.. more or less just revs... and who feels me on this one... 7500-8000 RPM in 5th that constant.. humm.. man is that not the greatest sound ever?

A M3 is limited to 130 stock (Most serious M3 owners will get a chip as their 1st mod which should eliminate that).
I've had my car up to a indicated 150 (ITR not the hybrid. I wouldn't know how fast the hybrid is I only a reading up to 120 and I've had WWWAAAAAAYYYYYYY past that).

Somewhat related.... The gear limited top speed of my hatchabck is 172mph... this assumes I can hold 9500rpm in 5th gear
The King Mugen ITR was able to hold 9100 rpm in 5th gear during testing at Honda's facility in CA. I believe Scott said it was 157mph.

BTW, I raced my friends BRAND NEW M3 last week, and it for sure is NOT LIMITED to 130mph, and the car is bone stock.
oh no I was talkgin liek a 98 m3.. **** that a the current gneration.. woudl destroy me
OT:
Am I the only one who thinks testing your top speed is dangerous like street racing? If your gonna test it out...pick out a good stretch of highway that is straight and wide. And test it during low traffic conditions (early morning).
-Tommy who's gone up to 130 MPH and that's plenty fast for him. My ITR will not see that kind of speed again (at least not on public roads).
