Put your back seats back in, get rear speakers, and get a cargo cover.

Dunno. Just some 6x9's that make noise. OEM's would be your best bet, because they're plug and play.

Dynamat, line your trunk/spare wheel well with it. It helped a lot when I got tired of my fart can.

the dynamat idea is a good one... if you want to do something quicker and cheaper, you can get spray on sound deadener (though it is obviously less temporary and a much more permanent modification)...

just remember that sound deadening material tends to add a fair bit of weight as it needs to be dense...

another thing you could try (just a suggestion) get some sound barrier ceiling tiles and line your trunk then throw your trunk liner and board on top... theoretically it should work as that is an enclosed area.... just a thought....

Dynamat...you can find it online or at your local car stereo install place. Me and a buddy of mine did the whole floor of his civic from peddals to rear trunk seal and the car only gained 22lbs but was quiet as hell

I wouldn't mind 22 lbs for dramatically less road noise.

Neither would I, but it was spendy i dont remember how much but the stuff isnt cheap. Hell if you take out your spare tire and lets say the change between your seats and you have 22 lbs

I think $70 is about the going price for enough to cover the inside of a car if you look in the right places.

Suspendedhatch has some links to knockoff dynamat that does the same thing.

255sq/ft rolls for &lt;$100.

Enough to do several cars.

go to a home center/hardware store and get roofing tar mat crap
its the same as dynamat but seriously much cheaper (maybe a a bit less effective but who cares)
It comes self-adhisive and not...so read before you buy.

I used that, one layer, on my rear wheel wells and parts of my 1/4 panels and it made a very noticable difference.

Everyone says "smells like tar" and it does...for a day or so. Leave the windows down for awhile and no problem

^Agreed

Rubberized undercoating in the wheel wells makes a big difference too.

Came on a 6" wide roll that was...I dont remember how long (50' maybe)

I know the stuff you're talking about, I used to use it for roof mounts in direcTv installations. I always used the tacky kind as it was what was issued to us.

You could try expanding foam but that would be one hell of a mess if you had to get to something for service

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Its designed for interior and exterior applications, with a service range of 0 degrees to 150 degrees F. and an application range of 45 degrees to 105 degrees F. It can be cleaned up with soap and water and is tack-free in 10 minutes. The latex foam sticks to wood, concrete, brick, vinyl, steel and aluminum.</TD></TR></TABLE>

I've used it in trunklids without issue. It's also a minimal expansion foam, so you don't have to worry about buckling panels that you get too much foam in.
