I have a code 9 which is TPS
Problem is when they sent over the B16 swap it came with no tps.
I used the one on my ls motor.
I have always had code 9. But vtec worked back then.
I put it all backtogether and tried driving around. let warm up and drove.
Nothing. I came back home and grounded it somewhere else.
went back out and nothing.
So I came back and grounded it directly to the battery,
went back out and srill nothing.
I checked my oil. its topped. 10W-30 synthetic
Im pretty sure my oil pressure is good. err the motor would be toast.
the wiring it all good. Went and got the parts from Acura dealer. (pins etc)
Oh well. It pissed me off but its the reason Im trading the b16 long block
for a B18 long block.
B18 with B16 tranny will be nice.

Well,
The problem is at full it only shows half throttle.
But it worked before.... I could understand that,
If throttle was closed then there would be no reason for vtec
to engage,
However It works for awhile then cuts out. (TPS)
and after that it just doesnt show full throttle.
Oh well. Im not going to worry about it. Oh well.
I guess it doesnt matter. I only have it for another week,

Start the engine and try to engage VTEC at idle, feed 12V to the VTEC solenoid. You should see a rough idle or stall. If it happens then the solenoid is good you have issues else where.
i would fix the tps code first. vtec engages only after a certain percentage of throttle is applied to save gas. if your tps is reading wrong you may never be passing the percentage needed to activate vtec.

I would have to agree, if it's throwing a TPS code, then the whole car goes into limp mode. It's a hrad code so everything on your car is running like CRAP, get that fixed, and if the problem progresses, then check your ECU or vehicle speed sensor.
