Default How do i know if i have ABS brakes or not?

Hi everyone, new to the forums. I need new brake pads, and i have a 94 civic ex. I dont see an abs light come on when i start the car, just an srs light that comes on, then goes off a few seconds later. just want to make sure i buy the right pads online. Is there an easy way to tell if i have abs? thanks for the help.

look for the bright orange plugs on the left side area.(area to the left of the airbox) you will also see 5-6 brake lines going into a box.

this all requires opening the hood..

Look under the hood, if you find a huge box with several hard brake lines coming out of it, then you have ABS. If not, you don't.

Easiest way is the Gauge Cluster (no need to *gasp* look under the Hood). The light goes to the right of the Mileage Reset Button, and to the left of the Fuel Gauge. If you don't have it, you don't have ABS...

Heaven forbid anyone should do things like look under the hood. Or even better, put the car on jackstands, remove the Wheels, and check for the Sensors at the Knuckle (Front) or Spindle (Rear).

The funnest method (I still believe) is to get your car to it's speed limit, then stand on the Brake! If you feel your Pedal go crazy, then you'll know! I like to periodically check for ABS while approaching congested intersections.

Not really. Please don't dock me for sarcasm...

Look in your trunk, if there is a rectangle bulge on the left side, you have ABS
Look in your engine bay, if you have various orange plugs on the left side, you have ABS
There should be a ABS light on the upper right hand side of your gauge cluster as well.
Also your brake fluid reservoir should be bigger than civics without ABS.

well, i dont see these orange plugs you guys speak of, nor the bulge in the left side of the trunk, although after the strut closer to the rear of the car the left side is larger than the right? and no abs light comes on. maybe i will get some new lights as the seatbelt light is off too that use to come on. and if all else fails, time to slam on my already worn out brakes. thanks for all the help everyone!
