Default H22 Intake manifold TEST RESULTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there it is...

changing the throttle body with the stock and euro r manifold didnt make a difference at all, neither were port matched to the throttle body.

the stock moded manifold consisted of a 98 h22 intake manifold with just the butter-fly plate removed.

i did not finish my cut up stock manifold in time to test...

the skunk didnt make any more power than euro r with out changing the throttle body. changing the tb made a little more from idle to redline as you can see..

post any questions ill be happy to answer them. but i think the dyno graphs are self explanatory.

the setup is as follows..

stock 98 usdm long block
custom header, 1/2 greddy 4-2, custom 2inch secondarys.
3inch CAI
balance shafter belt removed
tuned with aem ems

Good info

So it's safe to say the Skunk2 and Euro R give roughly the same performance...

What size is the collector for your custom bottom half of the header?

Wow, so much for everyone trash talking the Skunk2 pro, I hope other people will be more willing to get these and test them on other setups now.

the bottom 1/2 of my header uses 2inch pipes for secondarys, the top 1/2 is greddy.

i think a port matched euro R would match the skunk2 with the big throttle body. i just didnt have time or tools to port match the euro r to the 70mm tb today.

if you have the ability to rev the engine out farther the skunk would go faster down the track. i dont trust the stock valve train past the 7900 rpms i was reving it. the euro r and stock fell off harder up top than the skunk as you can see

Wow and everybody put that I.m. in the garbage on this site......Skunk2 isnt all that bad....more hp and torque and top end.Nice results w all, just suprised at the skunk 2,because of the extreme bashing it took by everybody.

Its safe to say the skunk2 and the euro r are about the same until 5300rpm to redline.

Well, the Skunk2 needed a 70mm TB. If the Euro-R were matched to that, the dyno would probably tell a different story.

Couple questions....

This was Skunk2's revision of their first IM right?

Was this on a stock ecu? I imagine, and assume with tuning there are quite a few more ponies there. I guess I might have to jump of the OEM Euro-R mani bandwagon.

Did you have a chance to test any of the different headers?

I assume this is on a i/h/e car? Short ram or Cold air? bpi flowstack?

You probaly answered these questions in your original thread but put it here if you can to make it easier on us.

Regardless absolutely fricken fabulous job!

Looks like the euro-R and skunk2 provide similar performance. Thanks for the test

Is the skunk2 designed to use a 70mm anyways or would that gain from port matching as well?

The skunk2 comes bored to 75mm out of the box.

The Euro-R is ~64mm

finally another person who did some independant tests to prove that the skunk is not junk.

The skunk IM doesn't come out 75mm. From memory it is 66mm at the TB inlet. I had to bore the skunk IM a little to match my 68mm TB

proves once again keyboard mechanics suck

Jdogg thanks for the time and effort you put in

jddog, did you play with vtec crossover at all to clean up that dip, or just left it be?

looks like the the euro r makes just a TINY bit less on the low end, and then makes up for it up top..

from the community thanks for doing this test!

Reading comprehension much? The Euro-R's inlet was smaller than the TB used.
