My H4 Civic Si for sale - bring to Expo?
I've been trying to sell my Honda Challenge H4 Civic Si for a while now and I think my location (Arkansas) has greatly reduced my chances of finding interested buyers. I am coming to Expo and have been contemplating bringing the race car instead of the ITR, especially if I can find an interested buyer in the ITR community.
Type-R owners, and I speak from experience, tend to be the type that might be interested in racing but aren't sure if they want to plunge in with their ITR. A pre-built H4/ITA car is a great place to start and my car is pretty decently sorted. It seems there is a ton more interest in racing, Honda Challenge in particular, on the East Coast then here in the mid-west. So I thought this could be a great opportunity for someone on the East coast to pick up a good race car without having to worry about shipping. If I don't get any interest from this post I may *still* bring the Civic instead of the ITR to Expo, but it would be much more affordable for me to drive the Type-R and will likely do that.
My original for-sale post is listed below. Thanks mods for letting me do this
---------
1990 Civic Si hatchback (White, 133k miles on chassis)
$6499 OBO
I've set 2 track records, 2 championships, and have won/podium'd a ton of races in this car. Finished 5th out of 17 in H4 at NASA National Championships 2006.
Here's the list but isn't every tiny detail. I've spent about $20,000, labor not included on everything. The base build, not including consumables, is about $15K (which I think most people fail to mention when they brag about build costs).
I have an Excel log of virtually every dollar spent on every part.
The car just recently has a new windshield, hood, body work / dent removal, some new paint and new graphics.
Currently located in Northwest Arkansas but will arrange shipping to anywhere in the US.
I can deliver the car at VIR on June 11-12th if an interested buyer is found.

<~ in for bringing the R to Expo.
Are you meeting us in Kentucky or coming up north?
On topic, I saw this car in action for 2-3 laps. I was must impressed with the car starting in last position and by the end of the first straight climbed 8-12 spots.

Actually, Google says the fastest route for me is to take 40 all the way there, so I'll have to find another caravan. Though, I will likely drive back with you guys because I'm going to St. Louis to meet friends to go to the US Grand Prix at the end of that week!

Ah yes, that was a fun race, at least until the hood came up!
I got some cool in-car video from Travis as we both worked through the field until I passed him and went out of sight shortly after

That's scary. If I did that with any of my race cars I would never race again.
Good luck with the sale. Looks like a great deal.

^ Haha. Hell, if I did that with my two street cars, I'd sell them right away, cut my losses, and cry in the corner over the wasted money for the past years... But that's the car game, I love it.

Um - NO.
This is a very fast H4 / ITA race car. I'm nervous he'd out run me if we pull another SCCA race together
If I hadn't built my R into an SCCA - ITR class car, this would have been worth every penny. I'm out nearly $8000 building. Buy this & run AT THE FRONT!!
