Well I've heard some rumors about a few of these.

Ara - sold everything and is just sitting it out
Mark Brauning - was suppose to race this season, don't know what happened.
Erik - was talking about getting back into it now that he's moved to the new shop
Abel - just wasted alot of sponsors money, I don't you'll be seeing him anytime soon.

I too would like to know about Paisley, Olson, and Kubo.

 

speaking of paisley, I remember he was talking about taking his supra and running Super Gas...that was a few years ago and he hasnt done it, yet. Does he still have the tacoma?

I rnmember Kubo was supposed to get her lisence and race in Top Alcohol Funny Car and was part of the Pedrgon Camp, but has since fell off the radar since leaving Sports Compact.

Wow, you threw some names out there...... I was wondering when another "where are they now" thread would pop up.

Matt Hartford- He's on one of those "fix up your ride" shows on ESPN2.
Cesar Febus- building a newer (91+) bodied 300ZX
Tirso San Juan- Good question....Hey Tirso, need a driver for that 6.50 car?????
Mark Brauning- I could have sworn he's been out somewhere this year, if not to race, to display his car.
Jojo Callos-Isn't he doing commericals now?
Carlos Montano- Saw him at the track today. Not racing.
Erick Aguilar- wasn't he build racing engines?
Abel Ibarra- Made it out to Vegas for the Outlaw race they had in Vegas, but ran into tough luck.
Dedrick Medina- Lost in the first round of Street Stock at Englishtown this weekend.

i recently saw Carlos Montana's car up at vanishing point, getting some new mounts made for a new engine setup (what i was told anyhow) i think he was going to put a 2jz in there.

From what I understand, he bought all of Ara Arslanian's "old" stuff. So yes, 2JZ.

K&N publicly said several times they weren't dissatisfied with their investment in Abel, they had a 3 year contract that they didnt renew... at the time it didnt seem illogical b/c prorwd costs were going up, and spectator counts and magazine coverage were at a low period
you see K&N back in the game now(now that spectator count is growing) with Ladwig's team and CSI

to Abel to K&N, wouldnt run any other filter product, and Im glad they support the sport

Otis Evans-car is sold

JoJo, new business, but rumor is he may be back with some funding for some west coast races this year or next

Montana is switching powerplants and making chassis improvements

Lance is doing just fine running his business

Olson's car was/is at T1

Hartford hosts Pipes, which isnt a horrible show... not as cool as Driving Force, but not bad to watch on a Saturday morning hangover

that was just a one year deal with john brown racing

both of those cars are now in different hands, Brown's PROFWD car was going to become Otis' all motor car but that changed hands again... someone on H-T is in possesion of it now, can't remember who

Craig Paisley - Saw him at NHRA E-Town this weekend talking to the Pro Racers

Ara - Still owns the Bullish Racing Business, someone else has commented on the cars

Sav - He was working crew for the Bergenholtz's at NHRA E-Town.

Mark Brauning - Commented somewhere that he wanted to race this season, but was sitting out last year to focus on his business (Maybe the same ??)

RJ Simrock - Still runs RJ Simrock Race Cars. I saw that he is racing Super Pro somewhere on web.

Carlo Montano - Talking to someone from Vanishing Point at an Outlaw race and said his car was in their shop for Supra powerplant and chassis work.

Last time I heard Lisa Kubo is crewing for Pedregon Racing in the Funny Car class.

 

ive watched almost all the Powerade events over the last two season and have not seen here around the Pedrogon camp. But anyways, she was supposed to run in the Top Alcohol Dragster class in the Lucas Oil Series...any word on that?

 

adam ran out of funding years ago and his dad was having health issues the last time I saw them in Palmdale a few years ago - dad couldnt take the traveling and at about that point funding ran out

Lisa is basically stuck - i bumped into her last year in Vegas standing with one of the Pedregon Brothers which I have a photo or 2 of somewhere - she basically got the shaft end of the stick - the Pedregon Brother she is with doesnt have any money to campaign a car in a Poweraide event (its not Tony or Cruz) - he was at one time holding a sponsor deal with Von Dutch Clothing but I dont think they gave him enough money to run the car

RJ Simrock was last rumored to have sold the shop years back - apparently as the rumor goes they screwed up a couple of top fuel chassis and that ruined them - but you know how rumors are - they still run at the 1/8th mile Barona Track in San Diego in the local Summit Series points events

Paisley was campainging that orangish/pinkish 350Z chassis in '05 - he got sick of trying to get Toyota to give him factory backing so he switched over to Nissan hasnt been back in the game since SEMA 05 - funding an issue there - I have contacts with the shop he was once associated with and there are also some other issues there as well

Hiroshi Shiobara - hasnt been in the game for a long time - he was the one that origionally campainged that red 300ZX way back when - look on the nhrasportcomapct.com website on his driving history - which if i read right ...is just that all hisroty as he is back in Japan I would assume - hasnt ran since '02 I think

JoJo cant seem to keep a sponsor for more than a year - he's been with Quaker State, Meguiars, Castrol - I though he was the one that bought Chris Rado's Silver TC chassis and then fixed it or buitl his own bassed on that chassis and hasnt ran since last season - speaking of witch has anyone seen Rado run the black TC this year ??

Abel - no finds to campaign a car - when K&N dropped him the car was left at the Toyko Auto Saloon back in 03' I think - yes he has ran at the Super Street Car Shootout on the west coast which is hosted by the PSCA people

Matt Hartford I could have sworn I saw it listed on the NHRA Poweraide website about a month back that he had qualified a car in the Pro Stock Class and was taken out in the first round by Justin Humphries of all people

so if Lisa got the shaft, why cant she come back to sports compact and campaign her hatch or build the coupe she started thats rusting out behind M&B?

what about Signal Auto EK w/ the NSX motor and their chop top crx? what ever happened to the JUN All Motor car that was supposed to be the "Erick killer"?

 

Lisa is doing well and is still involved with the Powerade Series. I saw her at the Winternationals at Pomona in February.

Rumor has it JoJo was driving a Sport FWD car at bakersfield at the end of last season... Maybe he's gettin some practice...

Jojo was never with Quaker State, and you dont know Sponsor deals other racers have. Some sponsorship deals are for promotion only not racing, and some are for full race schedules... This kind of misinformation not only makes you look bad, but doesnt help our sport by introducing fabricated rumors...
Also, it was Vinny Ten who drove the 350Z not Craig Paisley...
