painting my intercooler?
i know theres tons of thread on painting it black but i was wonderin has anyone ever painted their intercooler gold? lol i was thinking about it as a joke with my friends so it can look like mike jOnes! but would that gold paint damage my intercooler? alot of light coats will work correct? help me out...im getting bored of my car...
It's the exact same concept as the black but I doubt you could get radiator paint in gold. I know a few people that have just used regular spray paint. No IAT logs or anything like that though.
I seriously doubt that temps would be that significant since there is roughly 1-5 mils of paint thickness. That means thousanths of an inch BTW. I'm actually about to powdercoat my FMIC here at work. Black though. Not gold.

I did have mine powder coated at work on friday. Here it is before.

Here is the close up of the fins. As you can see the powder only goes in a fraction leaving the exposed fins to cool as before. The coating thickness is 0.003-0.004".

FYI, Just saw new colors for I/C that will be coming out soon. Anodized any color you want. Forgot which Mag I saw it on but the entire I/C core was anidized.
That **** looks pretty damn hot. Very soon someone will be PIMPING a Pink one(which is available) I got my money on it.
