Default TEIN S. Tech vs. Eibach Pro-Kit (Owners Only)

For those of you who YOURSELF have owned either/both of them PERSONALLY, only chime in please...

I actually found a killer deal on S. Tech's and I know Pro-Kit's cost $200+ with shipping and such. So I was thinking of MAYBE switching over to S. Tech's.

The only problem is, my car is a DD and I've seen 6th gen coupes dropped on S. Tech's and it seems like its fairly low (1 finger gap if that). And I know with the Eibach Pro-Kit, you can fit atleast 2/3 fingers.

But does anyone own them personally and can give input? Sometimes I run into bumps (stupid speed bump **** in random parking lots) and I don't want to scrap or rub. I mean I literally RARELY come across speed bumps and such. But going into my driveway, there's the storm drain so it dips down and I really don't want to scrape everytime I come home or leave. I plan on getting a front lip too and I don't want to rip that **** off within a day.

Input?

If I have owned both on a Subaru does it count?

Prefer it to be on a 6th gen (99-00 if possible) Civic.

Im rollin on S. Techs right now in my 98 coupe. (I have90-93 Integra S. Techs in the front though... so there could be a difference from the civic springs.) My car is almost tucking some tire in the front.... so I have to go slow over bumps. I mostly just scrape my mudflaps, but on occasion I do drag my resonator from my exhaust. I love the ride and would only trade for full coilovers. Just make sure you dont go over bumps too fast. Youll get used to driving slow over them soon enough.

With the storm drain, I have one. Just dont go straight in. Angle it a little and you should be fine. Ill see if I can get some pics up tomorrow since the nice weather has returned to MD.

i just installed my s tech on my car today, it was for 94-01 integras though so it might be a different in height and springrates. my car is pretty high up there compared to it being slammed all the way down on ebay coilovers . the s tech's a little bit lower than stock but not low enough if you're tryin to get that tucking tires look. otherwise, great for DD

Well considering you just installed them, they need time to settle. Also considering you have an Integra, the drop may be slightly different due to different weight, shocks, etc.

But thanks for the input.

The s-techs for the 90-93 integra are a fair bit lower than th DC tegs. I had 90-93 s-tech and the car was low. Lower than the stated 2" drop. for ride comfort their softer than the eibach, but the eibachs would give overall better handling, with a slightly firmer ride...by the sounds of things a similar drop on the 94-+ tegs.

Eibach = lifetime warranty...
Tein = Poop painted green...

Haha .

I'm leaning more towards Eibach now just cuz they're stiffer and less of a drop so more weight can be handled without lowering the car as much.

This is what I feel and I have owned both.

I went to wash my car today and looked at it from the side (and the pics on my laptop)... And holy jesus it's high <_<

I think I'm gonna lean towards Pro-Kit now. Damnit I change my mind too much lol.

I'm riding on Teins on my dd. It feels a little mushy, I would rather have gone with something with a higher spring rate.

I have S-Techs on my 6th gen....drop is pretty low and they are not stiff enough imo. I bottom out frequently, and will be changing to coilovers soon.

I have s-tech's and imo they are really great for lowering your car and keeping near stock ride quality. The car does still have a good amount of body roll, but steering response was increased greatly and it has about 1 finger gap.

Yeah looks like Pro-Kit it is. I'm looking for something a little more stiffer than stock. Near-stock is still too soft.

i've owned s-techs and pro-kits (both on hondas, just different chassis) and I must admit, eibach really sets themselves apart. Very nice for DD, you still have to watch massive potholes (in NY this is second nature regardless) but i was otherwise very satisfied with the stance feel and performance of my eibachs (I just put my fourth set on a few days ago )

I a mcurrently thinking of switching over to the Eibach's from the s.techs. The s.techs are only for appearance, they dont offer any good performance. This is on my 99' si. I love the look of the eibachs. The s.techs almost appear to be lower in the rear than the front but with the eibachs the rear is a lil' higher. My buddy has the same car as me but with the pro kit.

I've had both on my DC4. I have the tokico blues paired with them. I had the pro-kit, then wanted it lower so I got the S Techs. I don't have a complaint about either.

Thanks for the feedback .

I have my mind set on the Pro-Kit since they're stiffer and don't drop as much. Also considering Illuminas to go with the shocks. A lil step down from the Koni Yellows but the yellows are WAY out of my price range, especially for just a mild DD.

Also consider the internally adjustable Koni Special 'reds' which I've read have a softer version of the Yellow 'sports' though I think the reds may cost just as much as the Illuminas. You can get yellow sports for about $460 and some change in the marketplace/sponsor section. I think the Illuminas are under $375.

Any one have pics of the S-tech drop on an ek? I bought em, but might sell because the drop might not be right for my taste, and I don't know if they'll be too mushy. I mean my car is a DD, but sometimes I drive agressively and I don't want to feel like I'm in a bus.

Then you probably want Pro-Kits (if compared to S. Tech's). I've read a lot of reviews for the S. Tech's and most people have said they're a little soft (good for a DD) but not that stiff for more aggressive driving.

Why H&R sport, it's probably stiffer than the teins and prokit.
