In case anyone wants to know the pricing on LoJack Vehicle Recovery Systems, it ranges from $695-$1095, with no hidden, installation or monthly fees:
Thank you for your interest in LoJack, I have attached the product information you requested. By considering a state of the art LoJack package for your vehicle, you have taken an important step in helping protect it. We have a variety of different packages available range in cost from $695 to $1095 plus tax. Please review the following packages to find a solution that best suits your needs:
• Comprehensive Package (our most popular package):
Our Comprehensive package is the ideal package for customers that plan on owning their cars for several years. This package combines our Basic Stolen Recovery system with our quick responding Early Warning Notification System. In addition, we include our lifetime extended warranty at a discount savings. This extended manufacturers warranty protects the product against workmanship and extends our money back guarantee for as long as you own your car. By purchasing the Comprehensive package you will get your car back quicker, often with less damage and a good chance of catching the criminals as well.
• Standard Recovery Package:
Like the comprehensive package, this package offers you combination use of our Basic Stolen Recovery System and our Early Warning notification system. The only difference is that this package does not extend the lifetime warranty. This package is ideal for owners of leased vehicles or those owners that do not plan on owning their vehicles beyond two years.
• Entry Level Package:
Lastly, our Entry Level package contains just our Basic Stolen Vehicle Recovery System. With this system, you won’t know that your vehicle was stolen until you notice is gone. However, once you do you call the police to start your activation. The product is guaranteed against workmanship for the first two years of ownership and you may extend the warranty if you wish to do so.
Let me also inform you we have no installation fees, monthly fees, service fees or contracts to sign. For your convenience, installations can be performed Monday through Friday at your residence or place of business at no additional cost. If you have any further questions or would like to schedule an installation, please contact me directly at the number below.
Sincerely,

nice system, but 95% of the install is wack. And you guys allways put it in a easy spot to get to. The unit is great with the e.w.s. I use your product in all of my cars plus with dei gps tracking. And in all of my cars I had to relocate your product. Step up your install practice and your company will do better
Still cant figure out where Lojack make their money from if it doesnt offer any monthly fee. Basically sounds like your installing a TOP NOTCH car alarm with extensive service.... And + if any had any experiences with the Comprehensive Package would anyone please share.....
I hear they won't tell you where they installed the sensor. Of course, I'd tear everything down and probably find it within a day, but are they flexible on this? I have lots of audio sitting in various hiding places and I'd really like to guide the installation myself.
It's not an alarm at all. It's a different class of security that should be used to supplement an alarm.
If it's GPS tracking, then it's perfectly normal not to charge a monthly service. GPS is a one way system.

lol, I don't want people to get a false sence on security with lojack. Like I said its a good unit. I use them. But they need to step up the install. 95 % of the time they will not let you watch the install. But after explaining what I do and showing them my business l's they agreed to let me so call watch. Which in turn ended up me doing the job the way I wanted and the installer taking notes. As lojack is not a gps nor do they offer one. Its a radio beckon thats activated by the police or lojack themselves.

can we order a lo-jack unit and install it ourselves? i always wondered that. i'm an installer so i'm sure i could figure it out. I've installed a bunch of tracking devices on semi-trucks and buses. it should be the same principle.

Hmm, good info. I was looking into this because the last post I read on here about a stolen car that did not come back completely stripped, had LoJack. They caught the father-son thief combo red handed stripping the car in thier garage.
I'm betting they don't want anyone to see the install, so the average Joe doesn't tell the world where the beacon is hidden. If they could locate it and toss it out the window, you're screwed.
Anyway, when used with a properly setup paging alarm
Is there anything better for after-the-fact vehicle recovery on the market right now? I'm interested.

LO-JACK doesnt work plain and simple straight from my uncle who is a 20 year serving cop in florida. to recover your vehcile the area you live MUST have a lo-jack communicator in order to locate the car and it just so happens only 20 place in the ENTIRE state may have this plus the car has to be turned on.
the best advice is to install an alarm with GPS that has a hidden power source and a pager that you have at all times

That is not accurate, the last post I saw where the car did NOT come back stripped had Lojack and the car was NOT on and the guys were arrested. You have a better solution? I'm interested.

So false, No repping this company but lojack does not sell in a market that there is no place to track them. Second lojack is a self contaned unit. The car can have a dead battery and lojack will still work.

your car cannot be found if the PD in your county or any county near you does not have a reciever to find your car which is the case most of the time so the best solution is placing an alarm with a pager and hidden GPS

Here is a list of "WERE THEY WORK"
http://lojack.com/where/lojack-coverage-areas.cfm
If your stupied enough to go out and buy it and take it into area were you live and there is no covrage thats on you. Now how many theives are going to drive a stolen car. Esp a slammed teg or civic for over 100 miles? Not many. Lo-jack matched with a good alarm system that is installed right is the way to go.

Like I said in the post above. There install are wack 95% of the time. Most theives if not all knew were to look at first. Second, if you had the older unit with out ews your car had no chance anyway. And after just leaving your city lo-jack would work great because everything is in the open. Not like a big city were I am from. It would make it easy on the police to find it.

Lojack does work. I have personally recovered stolen vehicles with Lojack. Maybe you had a bad experience with it. As far as the "lojack communicator", Lojack provide the tracking computers to the police free of charge. So if your local police don't have it then either they are out of the coverage area or didn't request them.
It also comes with a money back guarantee. If your vehicle isn't recovered within 24 hours or if it is recoverd and is a total loss you get your money back. They also offer other warranties that give you 2500 cash and 2500 towards a replacement vehicle if not recovered. Is it guaranteed to get your car back, no. Is it guaranteed to get your car back in 1 piece, no. Can it, yes.
It is just another layer of security. If you don't want it then don't get it.

what would be better to get lojack or an alarm with a stealth install w/ sensors, back up battery, siren in the car? i think i might get lojack and the alarm but which one would be better to get 1st?

More so then say, DEI's GPS system? Assuming they both are installed in stealth locations. The ting I am worried about is the cops. There is a slim chance allot if any of the cops in my area have the proper setup to track cars with lowjack. I have not inquired about it with my local law enforcement but I would before I bought it. Maybe it's just me but I would rather be able to track the car myself and/or have DEI call the police and give them turn by turn directions with me on the phone then to just call the police and say my car was stolen, good luck finding it. I don't know about you but the trust I have in local law enforcement around here is extremely low.
No one is gonna care about the safty of my car as much as I do. At least with DEI I can be a part of my vehical recovery or take matters into my own hands if need be.

First I would get the alarm stealth install, back up battery, siren in the car. If you can prevent the car from being stolen in the first place. Its a good thing. Because lo-jack is not a alarm. Next come with some form of tracking device. I say the dei unit first because its a gps unit. You can get real time tracking with it. Next cop the lo-jack unit. you can call it a over kill. I call it layers. All of my cars and fam cars have 2 tracking units on them with ews. Better safe then sorry. And all work 100% especilly on one car that everyone tries to take and f with.

I like both units. And if your in la and the oc almost every cop car has the tracking device in it. I like the gps because I'll show up at your house if you lucky enough to get it on a trailer(its no going to start) and take it with you. With all the money I have going into my cars I really take it personal. But be carefull just going to someone house to get your car back. Unless your down for your shyt. You never will know whats going to happen. If the day I have to come (I pray that it does not happen) I not coming with good intentions nor are my peoples. My business is strong and I don't care if I have to sit in a 12x12 for a year. The courts are not doing there job. Steal a car for the first time. Get caught, 90 days and probation. Second time 1 year. Hit the owner of the car while he trying to hold you down for the cops 21/2 years.

isnt it ? especially in orlando big city with high number of cars stolen PER week
