Default Whole bunch of questions.

Alright well heres the story. Im putting power steering in my del sol S, and if you guys didnt know, the sol S's rack is much smaller in diameter than the power steerings. Where the S mounts the rack to the 'subframe' (dont know what its actually called) its flat on the passenger side, and on power steering models its indented to compensate for the larger diameter. Well, upon seeing this, I tried to drill a hole in the piece that holds the rack on the passenger side, well uopn doing this I found I needed a smaller bolt head so I got a new bolt, ground the head down even more, but by mistake I crossthreaded the screw. So I came to the conclusion that I needed to switch the 'subframes' so I could have the indented part.

Heres some pics.

Off of this car:

Has anyone else ever done this before?

Here you can see the carnage of the piece I described. Does anyone have one of these?

Does anyone know how to get the pins that hold this sensor off?

Heres a GSR mount, will this work with my b16 del sol? The dude I bought it from said it will but idk, if it does how do I put it on?

Please read and try to help me, I would REALLY appreciate it.

Thanks for the site, but the one you have listed is for manual steering.

Not to rip on ya, but just wondering why you need power steering in this tiny car (also a Del Sol owner)

Well, idk I was just used to it and since theres no engine in my S and the parts are available from my wrecked sol, I figured why not?

Im about 6'3'' 210lbs, so turning a wheel wouldnt be any problem, but hell im not the only one who drives it and like I said I was used to it so why not.

But hey ya think you can answer either of my questions?

that sensor is the tps.

those are actually screws in it, just slot the top of them and use a flat head on them. they will unscrew.

then to make it easier down the road, go get some bolts for it instead.

You mean like pound a slot in them and use a flathead to unscrew them?

for those tab on the sensor i've always used a chizzle and hammer just hit it at an angle and the should start turning after a few hit you should be able to loosen it by hand

The mount on the engine won't work. You will have to swap it over to the gsr mount in the picture. Otherwise it will be at the wrong angle. The 2 bolt mount bracket is for the ef civic/crx.

don't know about powersteering, not a fan of it. If my wife drives my car she just has to deal with it.
That and no a/c.

Good luck.

Will the GSR mount bolt perfectly to the previous spot and bolt to the A/C bracket that wraps around?

Ditto. To get all that plastic shielding off you have to take the crank pulley off and that can be a bitch. I'd say try to get your money back from that mount and get the right one. GSRs and Type Rs use a different style mount than the other Bs.

If that's true then just resell it. Actually those 2 people are saying essentially the same thing but the first quote doesn't know that it doesn't fit the B18C. It will fit the B16 like stated.

Yes, it will fit if I take everything else off but srt42004n what I tried telling you was I wanted only the rubber mount to work, and not the entire thing.
