RHD Prelude!!
Alright guys, before you put on the flame suits, the rims are going no matter what. See, i work at this shop and a big oportunity came through for me. I currently drive a '00 Phoenix Yellow Civic Si and am considering selling it to buy this Right hand drive prelude that came through the shop. All the papers are being processed as i type this in order for it to be legal on US streets. But i have a question for you guys. How do you like the oveall driveability of the lude? I know, im a newbie, i need to do my search, but you guys are more familiar with the site, so if you can please hint me on some posts regarding the driveability of the lude, would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry if i sound like a rice boy, but i used to own a 98 prelude before my civic. I loved it. As heavy as it was, it still handled better than my civic, by far. I liked the driveability of it a lot. I drove this RHD prelude, it takes a liltle bit to get the feeling of the car, but once you get used to it everything is cool.

Well, it's an auto.
As for the papers being processed to make it street legal, make sure it has a legit US title before you plunk down any money for it. It's really hard to import a car from overseas and drive it legally here in the States. There are loopholes that people go through most of the time.

Well, the car isnt expensive at all. I basically get the car for what the shop got it for if I buy it. If i get the car, i will do a auto to manual conversion along with an H22, and all the basics, rims, springs, brakes, etc......
Eh, I'd keep the Civic. If it wasn't an auto I'd probably still keep the Civic. Why get rid of a perfectly good, almost new Civic for an old, auto Prelude?

If some of you read better, he said the rims don't matter and neither the tranny cause he will swap to a H22.
Man, that would be unique, having a RHD Lude. Awesome, go fot it.

Who Cares if it's auto or not first make it all pretty and throw it in some shows....see what happens with that....or you can say Fthat and get all go and no show.....
But damn that is wicked I want it I want it

Sorry but I don't see the advantages of buying that prelude. It looks like it has the autoclimate controls in there but that seems to be it. If you need to do the swaps (motor, tranny...) just so you can have a JDM prelude with RHD...eh, that's a long process. But if you are willing...who's to say no. But then again you asked if we thought you should...and my answer would be NO.
Uh, do you work for the Post Office or something?
I've seen that Lude up close at Commerce this past weekend. Cool car, kinda threw me off cuz it was sitting next to a RHD S13 Sylvia. My brother was like, "That's RHD!" I was like, "Yea, that Sylvia looks cool" Then he said "No, not that one..I'm talking about the PRELUDE!" Sweet.
Just curious, how did that "Shop" get their hands on a JDM RHD car? And can they get other JDM cars?

I honestly don't see what's so cool with RHD...the whole JDM thing is played out and I don't think its worth you paying out the *** for a tranny and motor swap when you already have a practically new car
If you want a prelude why not save the money and the hassle with getting a title and buy a USDM model? Plus like prelude_rcr said youd look like a fuggin mail man. I'm sorta confused about your question about driveability too...I mean preludes drive great and if you owned one you should already know that. Can someone explain why this auto lude is cool?

I could paint my car pink and put streamers on it and it would be different. Different doesn't always mean its better. I think the whole JDM thing is overrated, people are willing to shell out hundreds of dollars for door panels that say "prelude" on them even though they look cheezie as hell just because its "different" I just don't understand what is so exciting about it all. If you wanna be "different" make a prelude that runs 12's! Or at least one that looks original.
