Default EFMashPlz' Build Thread....

Myself and " I Heart Honda" recently picked up a 1989 civic hatch shell from JockinMeHardEF9.....under the intention it was perfect

But my camera was destroyed in a drunken stuper at a party, so i have to use a noob *** camera.

before we start with the massacre.... let me give you a taste of the car i thought i bought.

what you are about to see is real.....and quite graphic.....

I guess they had to make way for the intercooler piping

guess they ran out of solder, and favored the butt connector ECU style.

this is how it looked under the hood.

and heres the interior.

off to work we go.

wire tuck and brake line relocation.

now for engine bay shaving.

next comes the DA sander and more prep for paint.

sorry for the crappy pics, old school cam. will get my 8mp on it as soon as it comes back from canon

will update at every step

dude take pictures normally before i kill you.

but yeah, i can vouch for the **** poor quality of absolutely everything the previous owner did to the car.

the bumper was held on by duct tape and zip ties.

bolts were missing from pretty much everywhere.

every wire for the LS swap to the ECU was butt connected.

mad metal was cut out for intercooler piping.

I could go on for days... but you cant complain you can only fix the problem and move on, so thats what were doing. like Chris said, well keep you guys updated.

Plans for the car are as follows:

- JDM B16A swap
- Grand Prix White complete color change(interior/exterior)
- Shaved bay and wire tuck
- Gold Rota Track R's and Tein Suspension
- New Carpet
- Interior hatch wire tuck

...and some surprise goodies for all of you fine HT viewers.

lol no i told this fool not to buy it but w/e, he wanted it i said I'd give my expertise.

It's actually in pretty good condition other than the front end, and I am very, very good at welding so all of the holes will be fixed. The car is 99.5% rust free which is also a plus. I'm overseeing the project so you can be assured that it will come out perfect.

I am overwhelmingly **** when it comes to building my Hondas and I am going to put the same effort into helping my friend with his.

and HF was a typo talk to him.

no 18+ year old car will ever be perfect but you can always do your best with it

good luck with the build

side note: Looks like a metal eating rat from hell got to the front end. I heard they live all over High Desert area

In my experience a grinder with a wire wheel does a better job for the bigger areas. Also, i wire-wheeled shirtless onetime, and stuck a wire in my nipple. I learned my lesson, just a heads up. Goodluck on ur build though!
