Default Comp Clutch twin... sheered splines?

I did a couple freeway pulls saturday on my way home. before I got home, I noticed a loud screeching noise comin from the tranny when I tried to shift or apply the clutch. i figured my throw-out bearing went out so i pulled the tranny only to find the splines on both my disc sheered. I'm curious as to what could have caused this? The only thing i can think of is maybe the fact that I wasn't using a pedal stop? The shop I bought it from said I didnt need one, but I've read a couple posts about putting one on. also the splines on the shaft are in perfect condition. any info is appreciated.

Thanks
-zol

What year tranny? Are you 100% sure the dowel pins were in between the engine and trans?

That is unusual to say the least. I have never had an issue with any CC clutches. I even hounded them for a K20 twin and they would not sell me one till they knew they were correct. I was more than pleased when it arrived.

I've seen some Tilton disks do that because the dowel pins were not used between the trans and block.

same exact thing happened to my friends car not too long ago with his comp clutch, they did take care of him and sold him new disks at a discounted price. Hopefully it wont happen again.

Check your dowels and the balance of your rotating assembly.

competition has by far the best customer support, everyone over there is always very helpful
