Default New (?) product review/install: Megan rear toe arms for 4G & 5G

I don't know if these are new or not, but I hadn't seen them since a couple months ago and I've never heard anything about them. So I thought I would go ahead and give them a try and let everyone else know about it. My old ball-joint were getting pretty bad on my 'toe arms' or whatever you call them, and we all know how Honda is about OEM parts

FTL:

So I bought some of these from ebay for around $180 shipped:

FTW:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...51020

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First impression was that these are excellent quality. I'm sure many think Megan racing is an ebay special Mugen knock-off, but if they were, they're not anymore .

Here's a comparison shot. The old arms weighed in at 6-7 lbs together and these new arms had a shipping weight of 3 lbs (I wieghed them at ~3.5 lbs, but whatever). So it's about 3 lbs lost from the suspension.

Custom heim joint/spherical joints on each end:

All the peices looked very well made and the arms fit perfectly:

Yes, I'm sure the actual performance gain isn't anything crazy, but the spherical joints on these are much stiffer than the stock ends and bushings and they are a bit lighter. Plus the toe adjustment available on these is WAY more than the stock arms.

Oh, and so far the diving impression is good....about the same but good. I'll update later after driving on them for a while.

Edit: Fixed pictures and a performance update: all is well

I also don't have the silly DC bar on there anymore, these are old pics...

Yes, they are listed for 92-01 Preludes

The stock arms are probably the same anyway...

Have a pic of the car on the ground normally (i.e. w/ tires) from behind? Just curious how the look

So these are ball-jointless?

Are you planning on a lock out of the OEM adjustment and use it like a tie-rod, or will you still use the OEM cam-type adjuster?

Yeah, hard to see them for the most part...

For the ricers with holes in their bumpers

The OEM hardware is pretty much locked unless you loosen it so I'll probably just leave it like that and do it like a tie-rod.

And when I want to some 360 degree turns I'll crank em both all the way in the same direction, bahahaha Just like 4WS!!!

So the advantage to these is just further adjustment and a slight weight loose correct ? Megan are the only ones making these correct ? Im just kind of iffy about megan racing.

Well, tighter bushings also. Megan is the only company I've ever seen make them, but if you look at their website, they have a bunch of products for some higher-end cars than Preludes and they seem to make a lot of good stuff.

I was iffy too believe me

About time someone reviewed these, I see these alot on ebay but never really see them anywhere else. Whats your rating on the cost/performance ratio ? worth the buy?

Thanks, I'd say if you ned to replace your ball-joints on the arms, then it's a good upgrade. Otherwise not a huge performance gain for the price.....but then there are those people who go the whole 9 yards with suspension stuff and these are better than stock.

Nice, definitely added these to my wish list. For the bling factor and because my ball joints are all shot!

thank goodness you had the guts to try the product out

i wanted to get it before (when they said they made mistake or labeling it for the prelude...then said it was for the accord....then now back to the lude
ifigured it would be like the 5th gen one and give me more clearance between the swaybar and that bar

are those heim joints teflon lined?

nice install, and thanks for the product review, your car has got weigh like 4 pounds now.. so much tiny weight reduction,

you should keep an eye on those heim joints, dirt dust, or whatever can kill them after a while, but better than a busted worn out ball joint.

nice toe arms, anyways..i never could figure out what those holes were for in the bumper? Does it have something to do with air pressure? Ive been racing for 6 years and never figured that one out. Fill me in!
