Ran My Car at the DragStrip Today...
I was still upset from my car getting hammered by a bumper cover that I hit @ 80mph on the freeway, and I wasn't even going to run my car at the strip today.
My boos from work begged me to run since we have all put hard work into it, so I agreed.
The track was Atlanta DragWay, which is known here in GA to be the crappiest track to go to. Times here are a good .3 slower than our other good strip, Silver Dollar.
I ran 2 times on street tires and never really got all I could out of it.
14.00@100mph. Traction sucked, and with 2.4 60-ft's I have tons of room for improvement.
Then I bolted up those baby slicks from M/T, you know the tiny-*** 14's that easily fit under a lowered vehicle?
13.4@99mph.
1.9 60-footers all day, but I still never got the slicks hot enough. I could not get them to smoke up really good and hook crazy, but 13.4 at Atlanta DragWay is like a 12.9 at Silver Dollar, so I'm happy.
I ran about 4 13.5's and a few 13.6's. The car ran strong all day even in horribl;e heat, and I even made the 60+mile trip home with no problems at all.
Anyways, I'm off to bed now because I have to get up at 6:00 and head back up there to work tomorrow.
Late!

Nice numbers man, sorry about your little accident, I know that must bum you out after putting so much work into it.
I guess I must be easily pleased, but all I was hoping to get out of my swap (when i get it) was low 13's at best with i/h/e and full interior. Keep us posted on the times and how the show is this weekend.

Nice times...were there a lot of fast hondas at commerce today? I was going to try to make it up there this weekend to watch, but Im sure most of us know how work is...
***UPDATE!***
Went back today for some more runs, and I ran 5 times today.
4 13.4's:
13.436@99.78mph
13.452@98.90mph
13.451@99.78mph
13.437@99.76mph
And my best pass to win my class of motor swap was:
R/T: .802 (I had 4 .502's and .503's, but this was the final run
Played it safe
)
60': 1.890
330: 5.456
1/8: 8.486@80.94mph
1000: 11.127
1/4: 13.374@99.78mph
Launches were at 8000rpm or so, and the ClutchNet Clutch RULED!
I am not playing my **** up, but anyone from GA that drag races will tell you that the times at Atlanta DragWay suck compared to the other strip in GA, Silver Dollar. Silver Dollar's times aren't even on par with the rest of the country either except for maybe PalmDale and Denver (so I've heard
).
I'm stoked because this car wasn't intended to drag at all. It was really for auto-X, but since my Koni coil-overs blew out when I jumped that damned bumper on the freeway, I figured I have some fun with the car this weekend.
The times were ran on the ultra-small M/T 20'' slicks too. Street tires just sucked donkey ***** there, so it was pointless. The track sucks *** for hooking up on street tires.
I hope to get the car back to the way I wanted it with the front end fixed right and the suspension repaired too, but we will see.
Lates!

Perhaps I didn;t make it clear enough that the particular strip I ran at SUCKS, but oh well.
People will always "expect better times" because they are trying to compare runs from others' under totally different track conditions, elevation, etc.
I have stopped expecting anything out of cars due to the crazy-*** variances in temperature, track condiditon, elevation, etc.
What did you expect, and why? If you have another certain car in mind that runs better, I'd have to say that I would like to see the same car you're thinking of run at the same exact strip on the same day, etc. and then see how it is.
My car ain't the fastest I know, but for the near 100 degrees out there at a high-*** strip I'm happy.

Is'nt your B18C5 just stock (intake and exhaust)...? Those times are damn impressive for a stripped CX with a stock B18c5.......
