Toda is aluminum, which is prone to warping due to exposure to moisture... rare, but it happens...

Exedy, Comptech, Zex, and ClutchMaster (i think) all have Chro-Moly flywheels available... chro-moly isn't prone to warping and lasts longer under hard driving conditions. The TODA, JUN, etc... flywheels trhat are made of aluminum are great for a race car since race cars aren't usually exposed to moisture, and when they are it's only for a short time period. They are replaced after every race anyway, so...

clutchmaster fidanza and jackson racing are all aluminum

lighter weight but people say there prone to warpin that just may be one of those honda tech myths floating around though

ok, i wasn't sure about the CM flywheel, thanks for verifying that... as for the aluminum warping... i am pretty sure that is accurate... that's why some people have complained about the starter gear grinding when starting... the flywheel was warped... in every case it was an aluminum one. i actually heard this the first time at the shop that does all my work. they carry everything from JUN to Exedy to CM, but they strongly suggested staying away from aluminum fw's on a daily driver or if you plan on juicing your engine.... in which case don't get anything TOO light for your spray. Chro-Moly works though, that's all I know... never heard of any problems with them so I'm stickin with my Exedy.

Anybody have any experiences to share about switching from a stock 19lb LS flywheel to a 15lb ITR flywheel?

Pb_Foot- The Toda website says that their flywheel is made of Chro-Moly.

Thank you for the correction. I was almost certain it was aluminum... i guess i have it confused. sorry about that. i'm just trying to get the point accross that the aluminum flywheels seems to be problematic on daily drivers. sorry if i mmislead anyone about the material of which the flywheels are made of.

Just go with TypeR.

They are great for DD, cheap, and last a good while.

Fidanza makes the CM flywheels, so the CM is a fidanza

i'm very happy with my exedy, its 9lb and $100 less than the Toda. from what i've heard they come out of the same wharehouse. If you want to spend the 450 then go with toda. The type R is still 15lb and you wont really feel much difference. Same thing with fidanza and CM, theyre made by the same people but the CW is 100 less.

I'm extremely happy with my Exedy cromaly flywheel.

I'm putting in an Exedy street clutch as well once I get the ACT out.

I will also be rebuilding my GSR tranny with B16A-ITR 1-5th gears and adding in a JDM 4.785 FD as well.....

My car will come even more alive!

I just got my clutch and flywheel put in yesterday morning..
I got the Exedy organic clutch with CM Wluminum flywheel @ 7.5 lb
Had never heard of the moisture warping issue! Guess I have no choice but to keep an eye out for it. Haven't reved past 4000 rpm yet.. need tp break it in still...1000 kms of city driving to do.. I'll let you know what I find. Idle is normal, and in IMO the lighter the better... seems like the engine has come alive!
