Default What gage steel for 2.5" exhaust tubing?

Umm this would be the best place to ask this question... right?
What gage steel for 2.5" exhaust tubing? 16, 18, or 20?
Thanks.

I would probably ask in Tech, but maybe you'll get an intelligent answer in here.

18 will ding from pebbles and stuff, while 16 is heavier.

Up to you.

Thin/light as possible. You can always use header wrap to muffle the "tinny" sound thin pipe has.

Does this work? I was considering buying a cheap-o exhaust and slapping a borla muffler (or supertrapp) at the end of it instead of the crap they sell with it... the pipe bends are mandrel and pretty well done, but the pipe itself is kinda thin and sounds really raspy.
