Default Throttle Body Ground

Has anyone tried this to see if it helps much?

My friend put this on his mazda3 recently (which also use DBW) and has been raving about the much snappier acceleration and throttle response that ensued with it.

Basically what you do is run one heavy guage wire (~8 ga) connected from one of the bolts on the throttle body to the negitive terminal.

Will this work on a civic? I have absolutely no idea. I just heard about him raving this, and since they both use DBW, I thought I would give it a shot and post it up, see what you guys think.

Same as those grounding kits. I installed a grounding kit on my 350z and the idle was a lot smoother.

search, it's been covered here... not sure if anyone has tried it on an 06+

I was told the wiring harness now uses individual grounds for each sensor and no longer needs supplemental grounding, and that you wouldn't see any difference because of it...

I'd still like to see someone try it, just to know for sure

People are nuts i think...i had the HKS Circle Earth for my Evo...didn't notice a damn thing, except it looked pretty hot.

It's the same kinda thing as people raving how much faster their car is with an intake...all in your head!

Yeah on my '92 integra the headlights were a little brighter and idled a little smoother... no miracle power gains though.. They've had 15 years to perfect wiring sensors since then, so I'm not gonna jack with mine unless someone out there has some proof it'll give gains on 06+ (other than lookin pretty hot )

...so? Even if it's just a placebo effect, it's still worth it. As long as YOU think it's better, doesn't it make the mod better in the end?

I'm not saying the car will be faster, per say, but the response should be a bit quicker during accelerations and what-not. People are raving about it on the mazdas, so it's worth a shot.

for the response to be better, the grounds on the sensors would have to be a weak link for honda (no doubt in my mind it is for mazda.. lol)

S E A R C H ! it's been covered on this forum

Whats with the mazda bashing on this forum? According to Edmunds, Mazda 3 and speed versions beat the hell out of both the base and Si civic. And Edmunds > you.

Search? Sometimes you guys take it TOO far with the "search search search."

I'm not going to sit here and think up every possible combinations of words to search this when I can just make this post. I DID search before it for a few combinations of the words throttle, body, and ground. What else do you want me to do? Crawl through every page to see if this has been brought up in a side convo? How about you just don't' read this thread if you're gonna pull the search flag every time.

just trying to let you know it works to a small degree on older hondas... not on new ones... ask the EP and RSX guys.. I asked these questions you're asking a few months ago when I bought my car.. I had concerns about the DBW and thought grounding could improve it. I was told by more than one reputable member of this forum that it would not help. Don't have time to search right now, but I'll try when I get home... I swear I'm not trying to **** anyone off or make anyone feel dumb.

on older hondas there were no ground wires for the sensors (block was the ground).. adding them made a difference.. newer hondas have a ground for each sensor, eliminating the need to add more grounds..

As far as Mazda bashing... I made a joke about their wiring... Go to a junkyard.. RX7's everywhere with fire damage from poor quality wiring in the engine compartment... what did you really expect me to say "I hate my car, shoulda gone with that bad *** MS3.." It's a honda forum man

1) I'm merely pointing out how all the H-T fanboys like to jump on the "SEARCH!" wagon before posting anything useful. Here's a novel idea - search before you cry search.

2) I know this is a honda forum.. but there seems to be constant bashing of the mazdas vs the hondas. It's just pointless to bash a car that has been rated far and beyond the car you're defending. Whats next, you're going to call out an M3? If you want to point the finger at a junker, call out a dodge or a chevy.

I said one bad thing about mazdas... ever on this forum.. and gave specific reasons

I gave you answers in addition to asking you to search... an answer that made sense about the wiring harness

You just wanna compare apples and oranges.. the cars are from different manufacturers..made by different engineers.. sure they use similar technoligies (DBW) but that doesn't mean similar mods will give you similar results..

H-T fanboy I am not... You have just as many posts as me and we're about the same age...

I even told you to try the mod on my first post and let us know if it worked... If it does that's great...

get over yourself man... I gave you everything you asked for.. sorry if I didn't search for you
