Default ESP - header comparison - dyno proven

My ESP header will be here by the end of the month and I would love to do a comparison back to back with the stock header, but need to raise some cash to pay for the extra dyno time it would require.

Also if anyone would like to have me compare something besides the OEM header I would need to borrow one from someone. So if anyone want to donate some cash or a header to use for dyno time I can do the comparison. PM me for more info.

I am thinking just a bolt on PULL comparison - unless I can raise enough for a fully tuned comparison. We will see.

no...if he can get the money hes gonna do 2 pulls after fully tuning to that header. if he doesnt get the money hes just gonna slap one header on for a pull n then swap to the other header n then do a pull to compare, no tuning

I could get you 50% discount on dyno runs or tuning. If you willing to go down to Wood Dale, IL.

I can handle that. That would help a ton. PM me your # and we can talk. Thanks

Looks like we have been offered discounted Dyno time.

Now if I can raise a little cash I will do a Real comparison

Tuned OEM Header vs Tuned ESP Header.

You don't have to help if you don't want to, but I can't afford to tune both these headers on my own. If you guys want a true comparison I will need help. Otherwise I will just get her tuned and post my results and we will never know.

there is no point in tuning a stock header setup.

just run it, switch the header, then dyno, then tune, then dyno again.

If it truly does a good job it will show then.

I thought a true comparison would involve tuning the OEM header first then switching and retuning.

I don't see you gaining anything if you're stock. Honda does a pretty good job from the factory.

I guarantee there would be gains just from leaning out a little and advancing timeing.

I would agree, but that just doesn't make good sense to do, too much $$. If you want to spend your money on it, more power to you, but I think its a waste.

Most gains gotten out of tuning like that come in the mid range anyways, if this header is truly much better it will certainly show it there as well as in the top end.

ha well we dont want it to put down nice number and u then u sayin that its a high reading dyno! haha jus messin with u.

anyway if u can do stock header with no tuning and then throw the header on with tuning that would be a good comparison too.

if we were in the summer then i would throw in liek 10 bucks or so, but we're not and therefore im a broke student with no income

I'd be interested in the results as well, however like everyone else I have no money until I get home for the summer. Good luck though and keep us posted.

i think its fair to say that we are all broke and your gonna be left to do it by yourself even though most of us do have good intentions. and i also think its totally up to the op since hes putting his hard earned cash into the comparison so the choice is his whether he would like to tune it with the stock header, but thats just my opinion.

I suggest keeping it untuned as well. Just swap out headers and run it. If there are any gains, it will show right away.

How about contacting ESP for some dyno $$$ to prove their headers? I'm sure they would want some real world R&D.
