Default Cause For Alarm ver.6

So I bought a DA (92 Integra RS) with 222k on the clock for $1200, in beautiful stock, well-maintained condition, to use as a second car while my Civic undergoes a transformation. WTF, this car has a moonroof, cruise control, AC, PS, windshield squirters?!! Crap I've convinced myself I don't need in my Civic. Before I even take the Integra out of the garage, I gotta lock it down tighter than a fleas vagina. I also had to take off the wing and patch the resulting holes, but that's beside the point.

This car is being used as the basis for Version 6 of Cause For Alarm. I'm starting from scratch; a start to finish security project. The website is going to focus on legibility and practical application. No theory. No holding your hand while simultaneously unloading my frustration in your face. Sigh. It's not going to replace the sticky or Version 5 of CFA.

So far I only have the Engine Bay Ignition Kill and of course the Intro page. I don't want to get too far into it w/out some feedback. Engine Bay Starter Kill is in the works, Fuel Kill is basically done but not uploaded. It's going to feature variations ie. clutch kill, neutral safety kill, and the main relay kill fcm is always recommending. I'm trying to order an alarm, but it's taking awhile because DEI just released all new long-range versions of their alarms, which my store doesn't stock yet, so no employee discount Planned for the site is a full on stealth install (of course), but this time it's going to be pic-then-short-paragraph. Very different from my past write-ups which were done off the top of my head and then illustrated with random pictures from all different cars. Hood cable relocation. I want to do a power door-lock bypass, but I need a donor car because I never buy cars with power door locks.

It's not so much new content as just a new way of presenting it. All the info is revised. Ideas are fully developed. Diagrams are about 3/4th assed as opposed to my previous half-assed. Haven't decided on navigation yet. It will probably mirror version 5's nav. The site will be heavily influenced by your input. First I shoot you down, then a few days later I'm incorporating your suggestion into the site. That's just how it goes. Every comment is appreciated. Everything from "I hate that blue", to "how do I...(some unrelated question)", to actual constructive comments. Check it out, then hit the reply button and give me your impression.

If only this was done before my alarm install this weekend. Can't wait to see the rest of the content, keep up the good work!

I could play with the font-weight a little bit. Changing your brightness/contrast/tint settings doesn't help?

Yea it helps but due to this monitors age and use the settings make the monitor tweak out a bit (when looking at the forum and quickly scrolling down it causes the monitor size to expand and contract as if it's resizing itself...). Either way a good write up

How do you guys feel about this version? I feel like it has some problems aesthetically but I can't put my finger on them. I mean except for the navigation which is just mocked up for now.

I agree, but I'm finding it hard to offer any suggestions since I know the site is still being built (and not sounding like a jerk..) I look forward to the new content, thanks again for your contribution!

Well, there's not going to be any new content until I can get a Viper 5002 at a good price.

I think it's too blocky.

Is ver. 6 down? I was going to link someone to it but while testing the link all I get is "page cannot be displayed."

It's probably because I changed the name of the index file. I told you it was under construction!

Check it out (link's in my sig). It's very near completion. I need to take pics of the starter kill, get a hood pin. I'm also going to cover the basics. I will be adding more to it in the future. Fun stuff like window roll up modules, sunroof control, door lock actuators, trunk popper. But all of that depends on how long it takes to pay off my credit cards. Son of a bitch.

Ah I understand. I like the new layout, everything looks good from a glance. I'm heading to class so I will definitely look through it this afternoon. As for credit cards, I'l gladly contribute to the page/cause.
