have only done this once, so i dont know it off the top of my head. look in your owners manual, thats where i learned it from.

1. you put your key in
2. you hold your trip button
3. you turn your key to the on position
4. you continue to hold it until it disappears. it'll take about 10-20 secs

Sorry Lucky, '06s are different with the oil life gauge.
