well since i got my car ive been playing with the idea of painting my 04' wheels black. not all but only the silver parts not the polished sections. has anybody done this?? i kinda did it on photoshop. anybody do this have pictures? opinions?

 

HA s@ntos and i were just talkin about this in another thread and the answer is yes. youre creative with that photoshop, but keep in mind what kinda look your gonna give your car. with that kinda style you shopped is more of a euro, kinda classy look. now myself, i dig aggressive offsets on wheels, and definately creatively colored wheels for that track appeal. a guy on s2ki has the 06 wheels like that, but instead of black, he went gold with red lugs. i liked it, but with ap2s like yours, a solid black on the black car would be sexy, but kinda played out. maybe a solid matte black with a red pinstripe (easy to do if you use a tire mounter to spin the wheel while you apply the paint) would give it that volk time attack look. throw some red lugs on it or do a blue pin stripe with blue lugs. you get the idea. the paint selection at the parts store is great, and powdercoating gives you every color option available. just be careful and make sure you really like the color if you powdercoat, because theres more money in that than rattle cannin it. i like where your heads at tho...

nothing in the world wrong with red. ap1 or 2? i think ap1's would look best red, but the ap2's have just a little too much luxury appeal for solid bright colors imho. post up some pics when theyre done.

 

i was thinking of doing the exact same thing, but since my car is red im thinking of doing the black part gold

they look like those stupid konig wheels or whatever with the black backs and polished faces....dont do it!!!

 

now check my first post and youll see that im against that paint scheme, but i definately support the idea of painting them. but like everybody says, your car, your choice.

i take that back, i really like white ap2 oem rims

 

the white AP2 rim looks pretty good on it. but i like the Wokr emotion with GPW much better

 

how hard is it to powder coat rims your self? and is it recommended? or should i just have some shop do it?

 

i know someone selling powdercoated white ap2 rims
