Default Does TireRack no longer carry Kumho SPT tires in 205/50-15?

Are the Kumho SPT's no longer available at the TireRack in 205/50-15?
I was going to order some this Spring but now see they are only offered in the 195/55-15 (and this size is listed as a closeout).
These tires will be going on a set of 15x7 Rota Slips so would you guys go with the SPT's in 195/55-15?

I have no idea why those sizes are shown on closeout, or why the 205/50-15 is no longer listed. They're still listed in the specs on Kumho's website.

Yes.

Thanks for the reply.
Looks like I'll be going with 195/55-15's.
It seemed pretty weird that the 205's just seemed to dissappear.

For a while they were shown on the Tire Rack's website as on back order.

nsxtasy,

So you think the 195/55-15 tires will be fine on the 15x7 rims? I did see that the 195’s are in the 5.5”-7” rim width range (with 7” being the widest recommended)or, should I look around for someone else that sells the 205/50-15 Kumho SPTs? I would think that the 195 size should be fine for my Integra since it’s a daily driver but value your opinion about tires.

Thanks,
GIANT

*edit* I just checked DiscountTireDirect and they seem to still have the 205/50's for $66each. With this additional info. would you go with the 205s at DTD?

That will work too. Either size will work.

Sure!

BTW, in comparing prices between DTD and Tire Rack, keep in mind that DTD has free shipping; at Tire Rack, you have to pay for shipping (typically $10-12/tire).

I sent an e-mail to Kumho asking them about the status of the SPT. This is their response:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Kumho Customer Service &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">No, the SPT is not being discontinued. It is one of our most popular patterns. This pattern is only 2 years old and it replaced our ever-popular Ecsta 712. I do not know why Tire Rack would have this tire as a ‘Closeout’ item. </TD></TR></TABLE>

I found that pretty weird since the SPT was doing so well, I couldn't believe that they were going to stop making them. I then realized that the tire rack just didn't have as many as they did because they were selling like hot cakes!

Thanks for the information and additional research.
At least now I know the SPT isn't dissappearing (except from the TireRack) so it will still be available.
