I Need Help Resolving an Issue: Type R 5 lug Wheels: please chime in
Hi everybody! I'm not sure this is the right way/place to do this, but I want to consider all opinions and suggestions. I purchased a set of "Brand New" ITR 5 lug wheels, and I received them in different condition.

This weekend I went home from college to inspect the wheels. Only 2 were present, although I received the other to Monday (2/26), but have not inspected them yet (I'm back at school) When opening up the "rota" boxes, there was not 1 packaging material present (i.e. NO bubble wrap, peanuts, newspaper) Just the wheels sitting in their boxes. Upon further inspection, these wheels were not MINT by any means. I would call them FAIR condition. Both wheel faces are rusting through the OEM paint w/ little rust dots. In addition there are MULTIPLE scrapes/and curb rash. Also one wheel has a bend and a curb on the back of the wheel.
(EDIT: Seller did not put insurance on
The seller insured each box for 100$, for a total of 400$ (exactly what i paid), and he assured me that the wheels did not look like that when he sent them out. Sent via USPS: Conformation #= 0306-2400-0001-8382-7396... Who is responsible for making the claim? And I doubt that we will get the claim check because there was no visible packaging materials at all
I'm quite upset/frustrated because the seller told me that i will not receive a refund if the USPS check does not come through. I feel like i was scammed!
Here are the pictures of the 2 rims I received this weekend.

EDIT: MOM sent me a cellphone pic of the remaining wheels (heres only 1 pic) GOOD pictures of both wheels are on their way tonight

Therefore I am now obligated (if he doesn't give me money) to getting these wheels Refinished and spend even more money... And they were supposed to go on in 2 weeks for an unveiling... AWESOME

Hopefully they'll let you hold onto the wheels. I know some douche bag did something similar to me, but with an intercooler. I called my credit card company and got it all worked out. Took well over a month to finally get my money but was definately worth it. My credit card company made me send back the intercooler though.
My experience with insurance claims, you have to notify the seller and he has to submit the claim for you. You also need to keep the original packaging materials so they can inspect it as well. It's a pain in the *** process.

Yeah, right.
Paypal sucks my nuts. I bought an Ipod from a guy in Ontario who claimed it was "barely used" and in "near mint condition", when I received it, it looked like it was dragged behind a car for 20,000 miles, the battery doesn't hold a charge, and it freezes all the time, and it never came with headphones or the usb cable. The only thing it came with was the box, and it was the box for a 1gb ipod (when the one I bought was 4gb) WITH THE UPC CODE CUT OUT
I opened a claim with paypal, following all the requirements, included all documentation and records of transactions... 2 days later they closed it saying basically "you received your package, and it was an ipod. Case closed".
I even offered to PAY to send it back to him... what a f(insert bad language here)er.
Good luck tho man, those are obviously not mint.

In my experience, sellers don't usually buy insurance unless the buyer requests & pays for it. I'll typically get insurance, but I include that in my shipping cost.

i spent extra on the wheels to get "BRAND NEW" itr wheels as in title.. he claimed they were perfect condition then EDITED his for sale thread
Chances are he wont give me a refund so i must spend money to get them repaired locally and delay everything i had planned for March 17-19th

First off those wheels were in that EXACT condition when you sent them out so you are OBVIOUSLY a COMPLETE liar. Look at them... there is OXIDATION in the ******* dents. Do you think that happend in a box over a 3-6 day period? NO!!! Those are NOT fresh dents and scrapes its absolutely/100%/painfully obvious. I dont care WHAT you say you are lying through your scamming teeth. YOU are the reason people are afraid to make purchases over the internet.
In order to try and help out the OP I am almost 100% sure that ups automatically includes insurance up to 100 or so dollars on any package shipped. They tell me that everytime I ship something out. Look on their site and read the terms and conditions. The problem is that when they come and inspect the wheels they will instantly void the claim. There is ZERO way that happened in a box during shipment. You can see the marks made by concrete from someone that does not have the ability to drive a car without hitting ****. Goodluck in whatever happens here man
