auto manual 05 civic

i drive an 05 civic LX and i hav a turbo sitting at home for it. i kinda of thinking about swapping my auto to stick but i dont know if it safe. has anyone ever done it? i live in illinois, so if anybody knows a save guaranteed place that can do it the pease tell me =/
its safe and as been done. my question is, if your going to spend so much, why didnt you just go for a K series? swapping to a manual from an auto then turbo'ing will cost you just the same as a K swap.
oh and on another note, i think autos are just fine to boost. no overrevving, dont have to be worried about misshifts, and it has 4 gears

Soory to say if your planing to turbo an auto i would so dont do it as it just wont give you the amount of control over it as you would have with an manual. Every time iv ever seen a auto thats has been modded out its allways beat by a manual that has maybe just I/H/E
so i would just do as he says and go for the k-swap even though it is pushed over much its still the best option.

Axles
Clutch Solenoid
Hard & Soft Clutch lines
Master Clutch Cylinder
Slave Cylinder
Shift Linkage
Shifter Assembly
Pedal Assembly

your best bet would be to get the bigger stuff from a junk yard, and buy the small stuff from honda.
if you're doing this yourself, you're probably looking at spending a good $1500 - if you find cheap parts at a junk yard, buy your clutch master cylinder, clutch/flywheel knew though. i think everything else might be ok being used. just depends how picky you are if you want everything brand new, or if you're ok with used parts.

you're post is irrelevant you're comparing a d17 with i/h/e which everyone knows does jack **** to a turbo auto vs turbo manual. I would bet on the auto d17 turbo from a roll over the manual since you dont have to break boost every shift.

but i heard that you CAN lose to a manual becuase you have more control of the power. Also about that shop in carol stream, ive been there many times, i know a guy there named Jason.

hes right... theres no way a manual civic with bolt ons (especially on 7th gens) can beat an auto turbo

Jason is one of the owners, talked with him last friday.
My car will be going in march 22nd or 23rd for 5spd conversion and than im finishing up my turbo build and hopefully installed july/august

again, unless the guy in the auto turbo'd civic isnt at full throttle or is having some type of malfunction, there is NO way a turbo'd auto civic will lose to a manual civic w/ bolt ons. a drag race doesnt matter if you have more control over your power or not. all you have to do is stomp the gas and go in an auto.

Dont sing it , bring it! I'll put my Boosted auto trans civic against ANY d17 em2 with MT I/H/E ANY day of the week. As far as boosting on auto trans, Mine Car had 20,000 miles? on it when i installed NAAWSSS. Then @ 26,000 miles turbo. @ 36,000 miles trans went BOOM, lol. So yes you can boost a AT civic with moderate good results

I realize that this is an older post, but i have a couple of questions, first off, are the auto and manual subframes and engine mounts interchangeable, and also is the steering rack from a auto to a manual the same.... I got quoted 2200 to do a swap just for labor... which seems ridiculous to me... but then again Im not an expert...
